dentists mostly start seeing kids at the age of 4 or 5 if the little ones

him I was 3 months pregnant. He said he'd postpone any unnecessary non
emergency X-rays during pregnancy.
However, I've also heard the new machines are quite safe. Not sure whether
my dentist is old-fashioned, or their machine is old-fashioned. My dentist
is a man, though he once mentioned his wife experienced two miscarriages. I'

的，结果前面的两颗牙白，两边的黄。后来dentist教我让他躺下来刷，就像dentist那
样用手扳开他的嘴唇，牙刷要转着圈刷，最少两分钟才能保证干净。如果担心是更深层
的问题，还是去dentist那里看看，一般的表面黄在他们处理过以后都会消失。 |

有些pediatric dentist很无良。我们2岁多的时候让做很多crown，也要求全麻，风险
自负。钱就不说了，自己要付2000+刀，关键孩子太小，我们对全麻有些忌讳，就没做
。后来小朋友3岁多，我们搬了家，换成了family dentist。这个family dentist的理
念是希望孩子长大还是愿意在她那里。她对顾客都很有耐心、爱心，不是以短期挣钱为
目的。最后，我们小朋友的牙在4岁的时候就做fillings，连laugh gas都没有用。现在
5岁多了，满口白白的牙，没有任何不好的症状 ：）。 |

Pediatric Dentist看了以后说的确有蛀，但是刚开始，要补。但是因为是门牙，蛀的
部位是2门牙之间的缝隙，所以要把缝隙磨大点，然后再补。
可是这个补牙的过程要1个半小时，并且大人不能陪。我娃听不懂英语，平时也不上学
，从来没离开过大人，平时胆子也小，所以我担心娃会害怕，可是他们说他们是专业的
Pediatric Dentist会有办法哄娃让娃不紧张。
另一个问题他们会用happy air,这东西这么小的娃用有副作用吗？我娃刚24个月。
婆婆说怕宝宝太小建议不做，说的我都有点不舍得娃了 |

If not, I highly recommended you find another pediatric dentist to obtain
2nd opinion.
if you can see 4-5 蛀牙, most likely these 4-5 蛀牙 need Crown and possible
baby root canal treatment.
since your child is very young, if did not placed crown, sometime, the
restoration will be loss in near future. If it is happened, you child has to
place crown, maybe in Hospital OR again. |

牙疼，周六一早小脸就肿了，紧急call the dentist，照片发过去说有infection， 先
上antibiotics，解决疼的问题。昨天（周四）去看dentist，结果是：这颗牙半年前补
过，现在filling也是完好的，但somehow根部发炎了，为防止以后再疼，防止影响下面
还没有出来的恒牙，需要拔掉，同时上space maintainer。
不忍心让孩子受那罪呀！那是一颗molar，大约12岁前后才换牙的，那个space
maintainer岂不是就要带6年！？而且那个东西在嘴里是不是很bother孩子说话、吃东
西，也很难清洁呢？也不知道可不可以什么都不做，等下次发炎再说，反正都是要拔，
能推迟就往后推推行不行啊？dentist肯定是不recommend treatment delay的，所以想
听听大家的意见和建议，多谢多谢!!!

Dentists will usually send the nurse working on my teeth for about an hour
before he double check and make further suggestion. The Chinese Dentist only
spend 20 minutes but charged the same.

the other office he works at charges almost double. (The other office owner
is a specialist the same specialty as my husband , vs the low price one
owner is a general dentist). It is about one hour north of downtown at city
north chicago. There are several dentists working there. The price is
probably one of the lowest in the area. Of course in terms of looking for a
good dentist, I would recommend my husband.:-)

However, for trivial dental problems, say, wisdom teeth removal, fillings,
skills on which are improved purely based on practice/experience, seeing
dentists in big cities/ hospitals in China is much better if you know a
certain dentist personally. |

dentists much higher than physicians. BUT FOR SOME HIGH LEVEL PHYSICIAN,

second opinion.
If you cancel within 24 hrs, they would charge you for cancelation normal (
not that much, usually $50). But for many days ahead, no way they can do
that. The dentist is probably desparate for your money!
Can you please pm me who is the dentist? So I would not go there when I may need to find a new dentist. |

Chen dentist不错，上海人，就去了。
Chen医生看了儿子的牙，说不用拔，两个礼拜不掉再来。但是强烈建议检查和洗牙。我
告诉她儿子今年已经在原来的那个牙医那里洗了，保险可能不cover了。她让前台去查
，前台查完以后斩钉截铁地说你不用付钱，保险会100% cover. 介于医生强烈推荐就洗
了。
过了两周，受到保险的信，说总共费用259，自己要去73块。打电话去Lin Lin Chen那
边问，她们说保险是不是付他们不能保证的。我说那当时你们怎么那么斩钉截铁地肯定
我不用付钱啊，如果当时你们不那么肯定，我肯定不会让儿子再洗牙的。她们开始说
billing policy.我让她们请chen 医生打电话给我，他们答应了，可是等了两周没有电
话却来了账单。
这中间，儿子的恒牙受到乳牙的影响，打电话给Lin Lin Chen Dentist约拔牙，结果人
家休假去了，schedule遥遥无期，只能带着而且去老远的原来那个牙医那里拔了。

事情是这样的，我LD的第8个牙齿在牙龈上有个小包，所以她的dentist refer她去做根
管治疗。在做根管治疗时，进行了一个多小时，期间我由于等的太久，从而进去问医生
怎么回事。此时才得知他们在第7个牙齿上进行了治疗。后来我问我妻子，得知期间由
于治疗时间过长麻药失效而重新注射了麻药。
从牙医给我展示的片子看来，在第7个牙齿里面根本没有infection；第8个牙齿的
infection是非常明显的。牙医当时跟我说，第7个牙齿也是有问题的，做root canal是
迟早的事；然后她愿意do us a favor，为我LD做2个root canal，只收一个钱，并且愿
意为第7个牙齿免费补。我当时就反驳说，人总是要死的，这也并不意味着你就可以自
由杀死人。不过我们这次的目的是修第8个牙齿，所以我还是让她先弄好它再说。其实
，我的底线是发生的都已经发生了，你帮我把第7个牙齿处理好也就算了。我们都是很
随和的人。

You forgot that these patients may choose to go to other dentists with fewer
malpractice claims and lower insurance premium. The negligent dentist will
lose business if he tried to transfer the cost of his insurance to his
patients.

patients. Sometimes I do referral patients out for root canal treatment
for a specific tooth, however, most of endodontists do their own test before
the treatment too. There are cases when the treatment is done on a
different tooth than the one I referral because the test is done at the

several teeth.
We obtained 2nd opinion from my dentist. He said it is not possible to feel
the pain based on the cavity and x-ray. If the teeth are taken good care of,
it will last until new ones. So we did not do anything, and my kid is fine.
It seems the "Pediatric Dentistry" are more aggressive, and recommend more
procedures. Get the 2nd opinion from an adult dentist. |

再说dentist的水品怎么样,真的是不能拿诊所的布置来说明,infection control,技术
水平等等,也是非常重要的,我见过这么多的dentist,和你说过觉得一个dentist技术非
常好,而且是马大儿童牙医专业的临床老师.我都没心情给他介绍病人,lz真是少见的好
人呀.

ago. One was very easy and the other one took the dentist almost 20 minutes
to pull out so it cost a bit more. The dentist was very nice and charged at
very reasonable(or cheap rate). The $320 figure was what the dentist
charged, including both insurance and what we paid(maybe ~$90). |

An American dentist once asked me to remove my wisdom tooth and he claimed
it would be life-threatening otherwise, while a Chinese dentist said I could
live with it with no problems, which it turns out to be.
The American dentist charged me 60$ merely for the examination, while the
Chinese one charged only 1$. If I did the suggested surgery in the US, it
would have cost me 200$ more.
