在本地的电视节目中，经常会看见一段推销「芝士」Cheese，亦即是乳酪的广
告。这一较具知名度的乳酪食品，其牌子亦经常引起争议，特别对土著社区而言，
更认为该牌子带有侮辱土著人士；带有种族歧视的含意。
最近『土著及托勒斯岛民委员会』即ATSIC委员交戴文·克根（Stephen
Hagan）向『人权及平等机会委员会』提出要求，要这只牌子”Coon”的乳酪改名
，以后不准以Coon为牌子因为Coon这个字，澳洲英语即是指黑皮肤人士或土著的侮
辱语，与美国人指黑人为 nigger；中国人指黑皮肤人士为「黑鬼」同样具贬低和
不友好的含意。
克根委员同时亦要求联邦法院命令 Toowoomba 地方的一个 Nigger Brown 运
动场改名，因为这一运动场的名称 Nigger Brwon 即是『黑鬼布朗运动场』，土著
们听起上来，感觉不好受，周身好不自然，我袋鼠先生可以理解，但以目前土著社
区面对的困境而言，如根据政府最新调查数字显示，大多数的土著寿命平均不超过
50 岁；初生婴儿的死亡率亦颇高；不少家庭还居住在 |
