My friend is a scientist working at Harvard on H1 visa and was checked at
Chengdu. Now the case is in the security review process. Although Harvard
University already communicated with DOS about this case, it seems the
process remains very slow. My friend went back to Chengdu at early Dec 2008.
1. How long will the security review averagely take these days, even though
it depends on individual case?

but I have on campus work(indeed it's a research assistantship) that worth
$4000. It seems that it's so simple for my wife to get her visa. In Chengdu

My case: 8b-7a=700 F1 went to America this August, we get
merried in last summer, F1 was working in Chengdu from1998
to 2000 while F2 working as a teacher in Shanghai. F1 got
his visa in Chengdu.
我单位离大使馆很近，所以早上6：30醒后还躺了一会儿， 6：50
起来吃了早餐（跟平时一样以免肚子不适应），化了很淡的妆，7：4
5骑车出发，7：55达到使馆门口。找到自己的号，排进队伍。（我觉
得没有必要很早去，耗费太多精力，不过家住的远的话当然要早点出
发，以免路上有事耽搁）。
8：15 开始放人，我本来是第二批（第一批的最好7：45前能到，
以免着急），但第一批人没有全到，所以我第一批就被放进去了。）
我在交材料处交了以下东西：中信收据，OF-156 form,I-20
form.家庭成员表，护照， |

问了几个常规问题，但仔细看了我的申诉信。他要结婚证的时候老婆听错了，给他照片，
似乎效果挺好。
前两次拒签的理由是怀疑婚姻的真实性，因为我们不在同一个城市。我在信里详细说了怎
么认识怎么发展。建议被拒后裔定准备一点新材料，比如申述信，否则容易重演悲剧，我
们的二签估计就是这样。

最近金融风暴更坚定了我觉得小软件公司不能总是走低成本路线，要整合产业链。
其实现在看来，软件和其他传统制造业没有本质区别。最近听郎咸平的演讲，很受
启发。和传统制造业相比，软件没有了运输，仓储这些环节，而其他环节和制造业
没本质区别。
大部分都没有很强的技术，因此不可能走技术型路线（如果你有很好的专利，技术型
路线应该是最好的）；市场型路线可能是大部分人的选择。
从我自己的经验看，做软件一定要越贴近business越好。以web应用来说，给一个商业
客户开发一个sugar crm的plugin，正好适用于其业务的，远比泛泛给客户作个网站来的
有利润。昨天有个ID说他朋友写sas macro卖给大公司，就是这个道理。除非做到很大
或者很流行，否则通用的泛泛的软件总是比较难赚钱，而结合商业的则不同。
怎么才可以贴切business呢？按照chengdu同学在帖子里面透露的，他的业务就是和商
业很
贴切的软件，现在也逐渐有客户来。要不请chengdu同学介绍介绍？

times rejection before they got their approval around Spring Festival time.
They are in Chengdu area. When they visited me the second time, they stayed
a year. They got their extension approval in the States. However, Chengdu
consulate officer didn't give them pass for five times. My father even had
argument with the officer. Of course, you can imagine how hard it became

got the job this year.
We used to have a lady in my team who handles this kind of task, but she is
out of office getting ready for her dragon baby.
ChengDu 23 (and there are ChengDu 1 & 46 in the same area) is about 10 miles
west of us, little bit too far but will use it as a back up plan if needed.
