脸书华人程序员的悲剧事件把一部分争论引到了 H-1B 签证上面。
这两年来， 这套为了弥补美国本土工种的不足而制定的签证系统一直是美国自由派媒
体乐于提及的话题，大西洋月刊甚至直白地把这种让雇主决定员工身份存留的单向选择
机制称之为 “当代奴隶制”。
虽然表面有高薪酬和高福利作为掩饰，湾区的高物价和程序员的充分供给已经在一定程
度上造成了实质待遇的下降和竞争压力的增加。美国住房与城市发展部的调查报告显示
，湾区家庭的需要做到年收入 11.7 万美元才能超过实际意义上的低收入水平线，加州
整体的低收入水平线则为五万美元左右。
尤其是那些人到中年的程序员们，高物价和高福利呈现出来的矛盾，加上子女家庭责任
的担子，恐怕这群穿着格子衫的白领所面对压力并不比美国工厂里的玻璃厂工人来得小。
而对于那些尚在熬绿卡的移民员工来说，这种压力不仅更大，还附带着不平等的内涵。
雇主与 H-1B 签证员工两者之间不成比例的权力分配让后者只能沉默面对工作压力和待

综合路透社、CBSNews等消息，亚马逊发言人22日表示云计算合同相关诉讼已递交美国
联邦索赔法院，但发言人未公开起诉内容。发言人称，诉讼文件涉及“敏感信息，以及
AWS专有信息，商业秘密和机密财务信息等”，因此处于加封状态，不对外界公开。
据了解，今年10月，微软公司获得了为期10年、价值100亿美元为美军所有军、兵种建
造云系统的合同。而当时，外界均猜测亚马逊公司将会是该合同的最终获得者。
