Cathedral on Monday afternoon.
Assistant Chief Peter Newsham said Tian, of no fixed address, was arrested

现在的天花板是平顶而且有些低,显得压抑,所以想把客厅和饭厅的顶改成Cathedral ceiling,如果不太麻烦,同时在顶上开两个天窗,这样空间就能OPEN很多,但是不清楚工程有多大,COST大约范围,伤筋动骨就算了.

搜一下你就知道这通常是不可能的，房子结构不支持
除非你很有米
ceiling,如果不太麻烦,同时在顶上开两个天窗,这样空间就能OPEN很多,但是不清楚工
程有多大,COST大约范围,伤筋动骨就算了. |

但是新同学对欧洲还是很向往的，这次终于让她如愿以偿啦，终不能老是让她跟着我往
第三世界国家跑。
春天的季节，还是很冷。
想了想，西班牙（Spain）还是个不错的选择，比较靠南暖和一些，那个地方夏天去就
热死了。
然后，怎么说，西班牙也是发达国家中的发展中国家，过渡一下，过渡一下。
定了时间和国家，剩下的路线啊之类的倒是不费太多周折。
除了马德里（Madrid）和巴塞罗那（Barcelona）这两大城市以外，主要是去南方的安
达卢西亚省（Andalusia）看看。
那里的三座城市格拉纳达（Granada），塞维利亚（Seville），和科尔多瓦（Cordoba
）还是很有名的，虽然很可惜我们已经去过了摩洛哥（Morocco）。
再剩下的时间就留给马德里旁边的两座小城市，托莱多（Toledo）和塞哥维亚（
Segovia）吧，都是世界遗产。
不过这样一来，马德里的三大博物馆就只能看一个了，也好，以后有机会过来开会再去
吧。
旅途完了的总结，就写在开头吧。
欧洲确实没啥意思，新同学跟俺现在统一了思想，还是第三世界国家好玩儿，哇哈哈哈

下面讲的基本基本上都是天主教的地盘了。最有名的，当然是St. Peter's Basilica。
注意哈，这个庙只能被叫做basilica，不能被叫做cathedral，因为它并不是教皇或主
教的seat（翻译成＂主教堂＂？＂根据地＂？）。Basilica和cathedral都不是瞎叫的
，也不是自封的，basilica专指重要的大教堂，cathedral专指有主教常驻的教堂，两
者有时侯会重叠，有时侯则不是。罗马主教的seat在Archbasilica of St. John
Lateran，那个庙虽然名气不如这个大，但它既是basilica又是cathedral，而且是罗马
4个basilica之首。
但是，这个庙无比大，无比豪华，又离教皇的住处无比近，所以它在宗教界和建筑史上
的地位都无比尊贵。
照片上右手那个小红房子就是教皇住的地方，还不如咱们德州同学的豪宅醒目呢！不过

寒假带女友出去玩， 本来是想去个暖和一点的地方，也不知怎么回事最后选了这地方
。。。。
以前有个朋友去过sendona， 不过是夏天去的， 听说哪里夏天热成狗，所以想想冬天
应该还不错。 其实这个想法还是比较天真的，因为冬天sedona可能会下雪， 如果下雪
的话虽然景色应该也还成， 不过爬山的项目基本就没戏了。

如果你见过明州的车牌，你应该知道明州的slogan是万湖之州。实际上据说有13,000个
湖星罗棋布在整个州内。
同南方的同事聊起来，我觉得最不可思议的就是他们也会抱怨冬天的冷，而同事也会觉
得怎么有人愿意住在那么严寒的地带。
说起来明州的冬天确实是冷，冰天雪地，漫漫严冬。印象中一般10月底开始就是一片白
茫茫的，到次年4月底才会有春天的迹象。而且冷的时候真的是冷。记忆中最深刻的一
次，大约气温是华氏零下30多度，windchill则是零下47度。下了班去Costco逛街，停
车的地方离大门大约也只有20米，可是冰冷的空气好像能把整个呼吸道都凝结，只能屏
住呼吸，一路小跑冲了进去。
虽然如此，我依然很怀念在明州的日子。

Musial arrived shortly after 11 a.m. at the St. Louis Cathedral Basilica for
today's funeral Mass.
Pallbearers carried Musial's casket into the Cathedral while Amazing Grace
was sung.
Among those in attendance were Lou Brock and other Cardinals Hall of Famers
, former Cardinals slugger Albert Pujols, and former managers Tony LaRussa,
