人都知道犯罪成本高，心有害怕，不敢违法乱纪。
一、 城堡法
加州有一个“城堡法”（Castle Law）又称“不退让法”（Stand Your Ground Laws）
。在加州，当受害人感到自己或家人的生命安全遭受了即刻的威胁时，即使本可以逃跑
，却仍可以选择留在犯罪现场，运用适当的武力来进行自卫，甚至可以继续追击罪犯直
至危险解除。也就是说，人们进行正当防卫前没有义务退让或者撤退（No Duty to
Retreat）。
举个例子，甲乙两人作为邻居，邻里关系不好。有一天，乙举着修剪灌木的大剪刀闯进
甲的家中，大吵大闹，称甲他们家的狗在经常在自己家的草坪上“方便”，边说还边挥

Uninsured Motorists Bodily Injury (25/50) 从以前的$8.30涨到了$8.40
这两个加起来一共长了一刀也就算了，关键是
Property Damage Liability (25) 从以前的$78.20涨到了$87.70
Comprensive ($200 DED) 从以前的$36.10涨到了$41.30
唯一没变的就是Underinsured Moterist，一共也没多少钱
这样算下来每半年的premium一下子涨了$15.70，以前顶多涨个几毛，从没这样过
自打拿驾照以来从来没半张ticket，更没任何accident，真是莫名其妙
请问最近renew policy的GEICO用户也有无端被涨价的么？
谁给指点一下怎么跟GEICO argue，谢谢！ |

have the lawyers handle the property damage for you as well, they do not
charge anything (because basically they don't do anything)
if you don't claim bodily injury, no lawyer will take your case.

一个release，有了这个，他们就不会go after you。
不过这个情况，你不用太担心，法官也不傻，知道这些社会渣滓怎么骗钱的。亡羊补牢
，以后把bodily injury liability弄高一些，至少100k。 |

了,她只打了三次电话,态度也很好.6500买的车赔了7600. 我在她的建议下转投了Geico
.不过感觉比原来的保额低而且保费也贵很多.想问问版上有经验的人,新车保险有哪几
项是必须的. 我看edmunds上说像mechanical breakdown insurance 新车的warranty有
cover就不用保了. 还有那个uninsured motorists bodily injury/ property damage,
要不要保呢? Bodily Injury Liability, property damage liability, 和personal
injury protection 保多少合适呢? 美国这边医疗费太贵了, 做个一般的手术都要$100
,000. 是不是这部分保额越高越好阿?

payment policy is very limited, unlike the bodily injury policy.
I think bodily injury may cover the passenger in the car too. not sure.
check with car owner/driver's insurance company. |

or you can pay them $200/hour. they can easily charge you 20~40 hours.
with bodily injury, they sue for 3 x medical bill. so hospital gets their
payment, lawyer takes their share, and you get the remining 1/3. this 1/3
is almost always a lot more than what you can get by dealing with it

you better hire a lawyer if that's the case, because in small caims
court, no lawyer is allowed inside the court room so you are on even
ground with the insurance company.
but now the other side can have a lawyer to represent them, you'll be at
great disadvantage if you don't.
I suggest you go see a accident lawyer first. they'll take care of your
property damage case, also free of charge if you have a bodily injury
case with them.

停车场，让ＬＤ看车，我准备迅速跑出去买了吃喝就走人了。
可我，竟然这么多年，不知道那个路口正对警察局。
呵呵，被逮了现形。
一张违章也就算了，大概一百多刀，我准备认了。可是，该我倒霉，ＬＤ的车，当时我
们怎么都找不到保险单放哪儿了，那张罚单，竟然是张３９８刀的罚单。我晕。走前写
了信，附了找到的保险单的复印件，要求上庭
出门一个月去旅行，开车穿越的行程，回来接到通知说没收到云云，每张罚单先各加罚
２５刀，还说什么１５天之内不交钱或者做个ＰＬＥＡ ＮＯＴ ＧＵＩＬＴＹ的说明
，就通报吊照之类的。我晕，我回来已经是一个月后的事情了。刚又发了信去要出庭。
这竟然，是偶第一次，可能出庭，人生，不会是如此圆满的吧?

情况，以及我自己的几个问题和想法：
1.在保险公司通知我我可能会收到账单之后，我有点慌了，所以给对方打了电话，又道
了歉，然后说她看病有可能这个钱最后要我出，我就是个学生，没有钱。但是对方在等
警察和我聊天时，我已经说了我快毕业了，要去做postdoc，所以这个话我已经收不回
来了。第二天后，她老公给我来电话，大概意思是说知道我是学生，也不想太难为我，
不然我们达成个协议什么的。我觉得就是想和我要些钱，但是他说了很多很久很快，我
没有全部听清楚，就说我电话信号不好，要不给我发email行不行，对方很快答应了，
不过到现在为止我也没有收到任何email.请问大家怎么看这点？我该联系他，私了吗？
私了了，她就不去医院了吗？
2.非常感谢告诉我fl是no fault state的两位同学，听了这个消息，我心里踏实多了。
可是我给保险公司打电话确认的时候，问他们这个钱到底要不要我来付，他们的答案是
有可能。我就说什么情况下有可能，就回答说可能会跟我要20%或者更多，完全取决于

but a good lawyer should handle everything for you, both bodily injury
claim and property damage claim. so there is no point of "hiding" during
the claim process.
bad lawyer can get you in trouble. few years ago FBI investaged car
accident lawyers in Los Angeles, mainly small chinese lawyers for bodily
injury claim frauds. |

1 bodily injury liability
2 uninsured motorist property damage
3 uninsured/underinsured motorist bodily injury
4 personal injury protection
5 property damage liablity
6 property protection coverage
目前我所理解的关于这几项cover的范围
1 我的错 造成别人的人身伤害， 保对方的
2 别人撞了我 然后跑了或者没保险，COVER我自己修车费用的
3 别人撞了我 然后跑了或者没保险，或者他保险不够付的，保我自己人身的
4 保我和我车上乘客的人身的，（不管谁的责任？）
5 我撞别人了，给别人修车的
6 这个不太明白什么意思，保险公司送的。
不知道我这个理解对吗？
近期该续保险了，之前的保险是一个当地老师帮我买的，因为刚来的时候不太明白，之
前在停车场被人撞了，H&R,最后用2 COVER的，但是我现在觉得有必要了解一下自己的
保险。

一般说libility only都是相对有无collision和comprehensive说的，都指车的部分。
很多州的bodily injury/PIP都是必须的。
受伤了就别抗着了。告诉你朋友要走保险而且要用律师。另外她也应该去查查身上有无
伤，好好说，实在不合作，让她查一下bodily injury的上限，就算很给面子了。
至于机票我看悬，保险虽然有这个option,你朋友买的可能性不大，当然可以问问保险。 |
