通过对这些报告名单进行统计分析ICM 2014做1小时报告和45钟报告的名单，结果表
明：
ICM2014一小时大会报告共邀请了21位数学家，其中美国10位，法国3位，英国2位，
日本、韩国、瑞士、比利时、加拿大、意大利等国家各1位。
美国10位被邀请做一小时报告的数学家中，有5位是来自俄罗斯和东欧（匈牙利、捷
克）的数学家，目前都在美国一流大学（麻省理工学院、加州大学伯克利分校、普林斯
顿大学等）任职，还有3位分别来自伊朗、法国和英国。有2位在麻省理工学院、加州大
学伯克利分校任教的数学家（Alexei Borodin和Vera Serganova）都毕业于莫斯科大学
。这从一个侧面反映了苏联解体以后，俄罗斯的人才流失非常严重。另外，来自美国本
土的数学家只有2位。
ICM2014上做45分钟分组报告的有近200人，其中华裔和中国数学家共有14人，分别是张
益唐、方复全、李涛、林长寿、沈维孝、魏军城、尤释贤、舒其望、袁亚湘、雍炯敏、

第一次南下Patagonia，只去了Argentina这一边的Los Glaciers National Park，然后
被纯净的冰川雪峰给深深打动了————同时也对Patagonia地区的狂风以及
unpredictable的天气有了相当深刻的认识。那个时候我还不知道在Andes的另一边，有
着另一处著名的Patagonia风景区：Chile的Torres del Paine National Park。当年回
家之后，越想越觉得在El Calafate以及冰川那里没呆够，于是开始search各种
Patagonia的资料，想着以后有机会再去。结果就是这一通search，我看到了一张Paine
日出的照片，是巨大的Paine Cuernos（一般被翻译成百内角）在晨曦中倒影在湖里的
照片。当时我就认准了这个地方，想着我一定要去亲眼见见这个场景。
这个梦想在短短的2年之后变成了现实。跟第一次南下Patagonia时那种懵懂的状态相比

如果单看这张图，过去10年里阿根廷大豆产业明显是赶不上邻国巴西。
巴西至少在两年前应该还不允许种植转基因大豆，也就是孟山都的抗草甘膦大豆。
草甘膦是孟山都自己出的一种抗杂草农药，而孟山都的转基因大豆可以耐受这种农药。
阿根廷农民每年都需要向孟山都交一个专利使用费。这个也曾经引起来农民和孟山都的
纠纷。感兴趣的可以搜索Monsanto, Roundup ready, and Argentina farmers
一些靠近阿根廷边境的巴西农民试图种走私的转基因大豆，但是孟山都公司要和这些农
民打官司，说没有我的授权，任何国家不能买巴西的未经认证的转基因大豆。这个新闻
有点年头了，谁有兴趣也可以搜一下。
我对转基因大豆（包括其他转基因产品）的看法是，这个东西到底有没有危害，的确是
有争议的。美国是种转基因的，但是大部分都出口到海外；欧洲对此不满意，所以一直
是采取零容忍政策，一旦在美国进口农产品里检测出未经欧洲认证的转基因成分，就限
制进口。美国玉米的转基因品种有十几种，所以要把欧洲认证的那几个单独遴选出来很
难做到，因此欧洲也长期禁止进口美国的玉米产品，例如DDG。感兴 |
