Purpose of Position
You will be a key part of the QA Team and will be focused on all areas of
testing for the Exchange and Active Directory Migration Solutions. If you
have a strong technical background in MS Exchange and AD and interested in
leveraging your experience in a software QA role, this may be the
opportunity for you!
Software QA Engineers are responsible for all facets of the manual QA
process across multiple software solutions with the end goal of releasing
high quality software. QA Engineers develop and execute test cases, carry
out the actual product testing, and diagnose and document problems that are
discovered.
Responsibilities
Develop/implement test plans and test cases, including analysis of complex
use cases.
Investigate and document discovered problems.
Interpret functional requirements and functional specifications.
Perform impact analysis of software changes
Document process or procedures within QA department.
Ability to manage a test lab environment and install and configure Exchange
features and functions independently
Interact with other internal departments (e.g., development, support,
product management, etc.)
Prior experience and specialized or technical knowledge (a must)
Extensive knowledge and recent experience with Exchange and Active Directory
(not as an end user)
Demonstrated ability or interest working in in a deadline-driven environment
Thorough understanding of web-based technologies, applications, and Windows.
Ability to work independently, take ownership of assignments and be able to
work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to work remotely in a productive manner independently with
little-to-no management oversight
Strong communication skills, in English, both verbally and in writing.
Extensive experience with Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory (AD)
configuration and administration, including:
Deployment and troubleshooting of MS Exchange 2003, 2007, 2010 and 2013,
including Outlook client configuration.
Knowledge of Exchange mail routing, Auto-discover concepts and Availability
Services
Knowledge of AD schema and objects
Knowledge of PowerShell
Familiarity with DNS, Networking and security.
Other experience/skills a PLUS
Software QA experience
Ability to analyze use-cases to create comprehensive test plans and test
cases.
Experience working with the software development life cycle or SCRUM and
able to utilize the tools typically used to aid the QA process is also
required.
Experience with QA automation and/or scripting/programming skills a plus
Technical experience/skills a PLUS
Knowledge of mail topology, routing, and architecture
Experience with email upgrades or migrations
Experience in a software company that implemented and sold software products
in a competitive marketplace.
Experience with Exchange upgrades. Understanding of 2013 |
