接到来自校友总会的请求帮助信息！科大有一项国际学生交流活动（已临近截止日期）
希望大家帮助推广。
中国科大与美国斯坦福大学、麻省理工学院有个交流合作的项目（简称SUM），已成功
举办两届，今年是第三届已启动，需要招募两校的优质学子（面向国际学生）参与活动
。活动要点如下：
Event Time: September 15-25, 2014
Location: USTC in Hefei, China
Participants: Stanford, USTC, and MIT students
Fees: Free to all participants, all travel expenses, lodging, and meals will
be covered
Core Activities: Product design competition and business plan competition

Stanford-USTC-MIT（SUM）三校联合项目简介
2012年，中国科大成功举办斯坦福-中国科大-麻省理工（SUM）三校学生夏令营，来自
这三所大学的40多名地球科学学生一起学习、研讨和交流了十天，得到了三校的充分肯
定，这进一步深化了三校的合作；SUM 2013教授论坛，共有斯坦福大学与麻省理工学院
17位教授参加，更具国际传播效应。论坛活动期间，斯坦福大学与麻省理工学院的教授
考察了合肥的投资环境，并了解了合肥高新技术企业的发展情况，对中国科大先进技术
研究院的运作模式进行了现场调研，从学术及实业层面探讨地方经济的发展。
SUM项目打造了中美一流大学合作的新典范，构建了我校与国际名校合作交流平台，开
拓了我校与国际名校合作的品牌项目，开启了我校与国际名校平等对话的新机制，将有
助于我校在国内外树立新的公共形象，在C9大学中形成自己的鲜明特色。在招生、教育
筹款、社会和国家支持与认同等方面创造着新的兴奋点。
目前，2014年，SUM三校联合项目已全面启动，今年的活动主题是“学生创新创业”（
Student Entrepreneurship），主要面向三校的计算机科学、电子工程、管理及商务等
专业的学生，届时，三校学生将组成团队合作设计创新创业计划，参加竞赛，并请专家
进行评审。同时，我们也欢迎物理、化学与地球物理专业的学生申请。

Dear USTC alumnus,
I hope you are all finding yourself well and in good health. USTC is doing
well and is developing rapidly and the Cherry blossoms in spring are
beautiful as ever.
For the past two years USTC successfully organized a short exchange program
between Stanford, USTC and MIT http://sum.ustc.edu.cn/. We hope to receive your help in advertising this program amongst your peers at MIT and Stanford.
SUM 2012 brought over 15 students in the Geosciences from Stanford and MIT
to USTC. SUM 2013 brought 17 Stanford and MIT professors in Geosciences,
Physics and Chemistry to USTC.
SUM 2014 will feature student innovation and entrepreneurship. We welcome
students from MIT and Stanford that have experience (or affinity) with
entrepreneurship (computer sciences, EE, management, business but also
physics, chemistry and geosciences…) and who are interested in visiting
China.
I would like to ask you to send the attached flyer to appropriate mailing
lists, or directly to students who may be interested. Furthermore, we are
looking for two good SUM candidates from Stanford and MIT who are familiar
with USTC and China and who can also help us hosting their Stanford and MIT
peers to USTC.
