Speaking at the U.S.-Africa Summit earlier this week, Secretary of State
John Kerry had a bit of astonishing advice for African leaders. While noting
that Africa faces a starvation problem, he also admonished its leaders not
to create more farms or farmland.
The reason? Adding more farms would contribute to global warming.
“Certain agricultural processes can actually release carbon pollution
and actually contribute to the problem in the first place. It’s a twisted
circle. Always complicated. But we also know that there are certain ways to
change that.
For example, rather than convert natural areas to new farmland, a
process that typically releases significant amounts of carbon pollution, we
can, instead, concentrate our efforts on making existing farmlands more
productive.
While Kerry’s intentions seem to be greater farm efficiency, the fact
remains that nearly 1 out of every 4 people in sub-Sahara Africa suffer from
chronic hunger.

碳，所以非洲不能建农场;人吸二氧化碳，呼出氧气。

JK这个表面上还是有道理的。中国崛起的时候，大家都只顾买Made in China的便宜货
了，没有给中国足够的眼里来提高资源利用率，结果当然是大家都倒霉。中国污染的现
状，即使马上outsource，也是20-30年才能回复了。
不过，JK座子底下的阴毛就很e了。因为他的对策不是人道援助粮食，而是让现有的农
场提高产量。heh，接下来就是转基因和使用化肥、杀虫剂。其实他根本不care about
CO2，只要加深对非洲的控制就行了。

没这回事。自然不能自动调节水/阳光/土地的优化结合。有水的地方没阳光，有土地
的地方没水等等。比如加州当年有阳光有土地没水，植被稀少。水一引进就变成美国农
仓。非洲也一样，有阳光有土地，要是还能建农场，就意味着有水资源还没被充分利用。
