Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit organization behind "Sesame Street," has
asked President Barack Obama's campaign to stop running a new television
commercial that makes fun of Republican Mitt Romney for saying he wants to
end public subsidies for PBS, even though he likes Big Bird.
"We do not endorse candidates or participate in political campaigns," reads
a statement posted by Sesame Workshop on its web site. "We have approved no
campaign ads, and as is our general practice, have requested that the ad be
taken down." |
