We need to pay attention to what Jesus prayed. Calvinists may use John 17:9
to support the doctrine of "limited atonement". I like banzhu Dignity a lo
t because last time Dignity rebuked JYM when JYM used this verse to prove th
at God only love his "select".
By comparing John 17:9 and John 17:20, we can see God the father only "gave"
Jesus his disciples, not All Believers. If the "elect" were predestined to
believe in Jesus Christ, Jesus could simply pray for all "elect" in one ver
se.
*we are one
John 17: 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and
I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you h
ave sent me.
Trinitarian always uses "John 10:30 I and the Father are one." to prove the
doctrine of Trinity. Actually I agree with "Trinity" but I believe Jesus is
a minor God with no eternal past (just like us). John 17:21 tells us that
all of us will be in one with God. |
