发帖数: 363 | 1 The drive was long. From Lihue to Waimea Canyon. i suggested watching
sunrise by Niwiliwili bay. so we agreed to meet at 6:00 am in the morning.
turned out 6:00 am was a little late for sunrise. but the view at the bay
was still magnificent with two lighthouses standing by, morning sunshine
seeping through gold-lining clouds. four of us stood there, wow.
And the drive was long. checked out lookouts along the way, got to the
campsite Kokee state park campsite around 9:30 am. permit says, dont pitch
your tent until 1:00 pm. so we started hiking. the Pihea-Alaka’i swamp
Trail, 7.6 mil round trip with 2000 ft gain and 5 star promised view. i
figured, at a pace of two miles an hour we could finish this in 4 hours max.
so i actually planned another 5 mil trail for the late afternoon. Turned
out i was sooo wrong. i should not estimate hiking time by the length of the
trail. we started at 10:00 am and finished at 17:30 pm. Waimea canyon has
been claimed to be the wetted spot on earth. it receives 600 inch of rain
annually. so we were embraced in the rain. the trail itself was not hard,
but with rain, it was super slippery and muddy. like walking in a melting
chocolate puddle. it invovled a little rive crossing too. but what views we
have been rewarded.. 我呢，天生胆小鬼，还轻微恐高，来去的路上给大家拖了不少
后腿。加上路滑，我就走的更加的小心，更加的慢，更加的害怕。 chicago姑娘，在前
面蹦蹦跳跳的就过去了，我还在后面用hiking pole小心的支撑着探路。 心理上的障碍
真是很难克服啊。
去的路上还是云海。沿着ridge trail也什么都看不见，都是茫茫的云海，阴着天飘着
雨。雨一阵，情一阵，我们的衣服干了又湿，湿了又干。裤子在red dirt的trail上都
走成了红色，hiking boots也上了红色。好不容易走到了swamp trail的部分，舒服的
木板铺好的trail.哇卡卡。雾气蒙蒙，我们开始走的魂不守舍了，脚机械的往前挪。像
是在梦里，像是在聊斋的电影里。前后没有一个人，只有我们4个。我们开始讲鬼故事
。哈哈。脚下木板边的无边的swamp，水汽连连。这么失魂落魄的走了2mil，又开始爬
山了。开始看到其他的hiker在前面。告诉我们，great view at the end, but you
will need to wait for it. 终于到了trail的尽头。我们站在valley的上面。下面云
雾缭绕。什么都看不到。我们等着，拿出相机随时准备抓拍。they said, the view
come and goes very fast. 我们很幸运，大概过了仅仅5分钟，云层被渐渐吹起，脚
下的view，慢慢的展现出来。先看到远处湛蓝的大海，hanalei bay, 然后是近处的碧
绿的青山峡谷。我歇斯底里的鬼叫起来。holly molly。我们就这么看着云卷云舒，风
景时隐时现，边吃着面包，捏着照片。心满意足。后来我去潜水，我的dive master说
，那条trail他去了5次都没能看到那个风景，有一次他等待了2个小时还是没看到。看
来我们真的很幸运哦。 哦，还有一只小老鼠，绕着我们跑来跑去的找吃的。这个时候
，连老鼠看上去都那么的可爱哈。
回去的时候，是要原路返回的，我本打算走另外一条trail回到公路，可是要在公路上
走很远，考虑到时间，最后大家还是决定原路返回。结果证明，原路返回是多么多么明
智的选择挖。来时的云海都已经散去。原来我们的来时路都是在ridge上面。下面的峡
谷跟瀑布一直在我们两侧随行！ 还是飘着小雨。好多时候我们都懒得不愿意把相机从
背包里拿出来在放回去，就那么呆呆的望着，沉浸着。我只好唱，“你存在，我深深的
脑海里，我的梦里，我的心里，我的歌声里。。” 谁要想看这般风景，让他们亲自来
看吧。我门都印在深深的脑海里。 ：）but i still got about 1500 pictures.

赶在天黑之前回到营地搭帐篷。the campsite is right by the kokee museum. there
is no specific campsite, turned out the huge grassy lawn area is the
Campsite!, wow, so soft. :) only has cold shower. so we did not shower for 2
days :) . was a little cold for cold shower in the mountains.
煮了面。满足的睡了。暖暖的，听着雨声，风声，树叶的沙沙声。很幸福。 | e****n

美景在前头，我还以为是开玩笑的。最后刚刚走到好走的boardwalk,前面飘过来一大片
黑云，冬日的天光也快到了尽头，只好打道回来了。 |
