Played 6 sessions so far, up 5, lost one, only 200$ , pretty much
card dead session. All 500$ cap 2-5 NL at Bellagio. Started 400$ each time
and rebuy 100$ more when stack is below 300$. I am up 2.3k so far.
The game is extremely soft during holiday season. Seems even better
than when I got started a few years ago during this time. Guess more bad
players jump in. The game plays pretty much the same as some soft 1-2 NL ,
very loose and passive generally, much different from the no cap live cash
game or NL400 Rush that I played before.
For the first three days , only played one big pot. Small cooler. My AA
held up against QQ , doubled up once. I played pretty tight generally ,
losing some value for the trade of lower variance. Up 1.3k for first three
days. Today finally played a big pot and made a huge laydown.
I bought in for 400$ for the day as usually, won a few small-middle
size pot and my stack grew to 800$. The game is quite passive generally.
Most players on the table just had very tough time to fold top pair. So I
decided to limp with KK , trying to trap, a reg with near 2k stack raised to
35$, all folded, I decided just to call there. My hand is way under reped
and I also do not play big pot OOP. I played with that reg a few years ago,
he is generally very solid.
The flop came K79, two spade. I checked, he bet 40$, I decided to play
this hand fast with heavy draw board, also, my hand is so much under reped.
so I check/raised to 140$, he quickly raised to 400$ , I was very happy to
get in with my top set and he quickly called. Turn is the case King and I
took down the pot over 1.6k.

draw. A loose fish raised to 20$, he had been openning pretty light and he
had a little over 300$, I had button with AK and decided to isolate him, so
I raised to 120, suprisingly he called 100$ more with 200$ left! Flop is T23
rainbow, he shipped and I decided to fold there. lol. could play a little
bit different against fishes ;)
So after losing a few small pots and card dead for a while, I lost 400$
back and my stack is back to 1200$. Then came to this biggest laydown of last few days. I raised to 25 UTG with KK, SB called. BB raised to 125$, with 700$ more left.
I usually just shipped preflop with KK with less than 200BB regardless.
BB joined in the table same time as I do,and we have been playing together
for more than 4 hours. He is very weak/tight player, only raised prefop once
for the whole time and showed KK. But he limped a lot and called raise a
lot.
When he 3 bet me this strong, not much AK/JJ in his range, his
range is pretty much QQ-AA. These guys at table just play so bad and I think
I have much higher edge playing postflop with them. If I shipped there,
pretty sure he would call me. He definately could have QQ there, but he
could have KK, AA too. So it is pretty much a coin flip there with my KK.
Here I remember Ben Lamb's decision for just calling a 3 bet with KK preflop
. It is not because he thought his KK is not good, it is because he thought
he can get much better edge later on. He was against AA that time and he
only lost 10% of his stack.
I do not have odds to set mining there , so I decided to fold preflop
. Second time in my live poker career to fold KK preflop. Later on he told
me he had KK too. I do not feel bad about this fold at all.

With a deep stack against a decent player, the only way to win big with KK
is to under represent your hand. | Y**X
