Heard some pros go to higher level games to make it worth it... As a
beginner-intermediate player like me, I wonder where the answer could be ...

发帖数: 520 | 8 I played lot of home games arund my area. My problem is that I can not leave
until I lost every penny with me. Most of time(say 7 out of 10), the first
2-3 hours, I would say I get over double my buy-in or sometime even triple/4
times my buy-in. But I just can not leave with winning.
After 2-3 hours, I start to play loose and sort of imagination come to my
mind. For example, if I get 2/7, I could imagine that I will hit 777/772 or
222....
After lost everything, I always feel regret and thinking never go back to
game ....
I guess I get some mental-illness with gambling. Hehehehehe.
Feel so bad.... Wish new year I can give up!

take it as a hobby with some small income.
for higher stakes, ppl go broke all the time.
88% of players are losers in the long term. i guess another 5%+ are just
break-even or small winners.

i'm on the reverse side, i can always leave with small profits or play very
tight after i double up or so. i rarely have hot hot sessions, but i don't
lose big either. i'm fine with $200 here and $400 there.

Busy busy year overall, wanted to take 2 months vacation, didn't happen
at all.
My daughter was born, healthy, cute and not as tough to take care of as his
brother was. Less diapers baby.. weeeeeeeeeeeee!
Poker: Did pretty well overall, only complain is that I didn't put in
nearly as much time as I planned on learning and playing PLO
2011:
Hope everyone in the family will be healthy and happy.
Take 3-4 months vacation if possible. ^_^
make 100k+ in PLO and hopefully do as well or better in no limit as this
year.
Final table at least 1 Sunday Major (this one is going to be tough, I played
like 4 or 5 Sunday this whole year for MTT, I want to play more, but doubt
it would happen).
oh.. of course, hope kungfu poker become the best Chinese poker community
online and the stupid server stop crashing as often. |

Play 125 FTP worth hands at most any day.

More comfortable with TAG, add some LAG plays

I got last catch for this year. Last night, home game,$300 buy-in,I got
about over $3000 net profit finally. This morning, I just handed the greens
to my wife. She seems happy and gave me back $500 for 2011 poker
entertainment.

Wish keep the $500 as long as possible;
wish play poker as less time as possible;
Wish join you guys in MITBBS tourney as many as possible;
Wish Fryking org at least time Atlantic City/Los Vegas Party, and I can join.

发帖数: 33 | 20 Didn't play much this year until recently. I have been on vacation and tried
to go to most of the charity poker games close to my home. Below are my
problems and hopefully will be overcome next year:
1) Constantly won at 1/2 charity poker (~6 sessions so far), but lost all
the profits at a local casino 2/5 game(2 sessions so far). Next year I'll
avoid 2/5 games until I generate a bankroll from the charity game for it.
2) Never want to stop unless made a profit of greater than 100bb, or lost 2
to three full buy-ins. I felt the time was wasted if I leave the table even.
3) Cann't overcome the temptation of making big calls. Some time I caught
big bluff and double up, but over all I believe it was negative EV.
4) Hope there will be a consistant online poker environment so I can go back
online.
5) Stop playing before 11:00pm. I have hard time to sleep after playing,
especially when it was really later in the night. |

keep a foreign account with more than 10k. Still stuck quite a bit (enough
for a minimum starting bank roll for live 2/5, hehe..), but it is probably
nothing compared to others.

Summary:
1. has hundred of hours of live cash game experiences
2. read a couple of poker books
3. start to play with player instead of just playing cards
4. not easy on tilt if bad-beat or draw-out by other people
5. find cash game is harder and harder to win
6. around even in 2/5 game for 2011
New year resolution:
1. Play for fun
2. Watch more cash game videos to improve myself
3. Be a habit to categorize plays when sit in new table
4. No more than 5 hour per session.
5. Leave table when loss is beyond limits
6. Change table or seat when hit bad beats or always get crappy cards
7. Allocate time to go to gym for body training
8. Try to meet people in this board when boardmaster calls for gathering.
9. Tye to beat 2/5 game on average
