SB: 2400, BB: 400, UTG, 3000, you, 2200.
blinds: 50/100, turbo, blinds change every 3 mins, next level 120/240.
let's assume all normal images.

800 or 1000 to get the side pot at least.
My read if I bet, the odds are very high to get the side pot.
Preflop when shortstack goes allin, I would go allin too, SB and UTG would fold since they only called before, which suggest they didn't have strong hand.Then I would pay 400 to compete for 1000, with shortstack who doesn't necessarily have good hand. | m******t

Now river came a Q and you bet 1000, you look like to hit Q, or anyway it is
not likely for a middle pair to call such a bet. | f*****g

suspsicous too), so i take the side pot.
i asked this question because SB was very mad, he folded his 5x (middle pair
on flop) and BB showed A3 to win the main pot. he said i shouldn't act on
the river with nothing and brought the dead guy back.
at the beginning, my argument was why i should let go the side pot, and take
a loss in his favor(he said the books told him that we should coroperate to
eliminate small guy first). but

If he didn't bet, then you would not bet on river since there was no side
pot.
In this situation a common practice is someone with nuts bets. | f*****g
