手入水的时候应该 "插入", not 把手尽量前伸. The disadvantage of the latter
is the drag generated suddenly by your whole arm.
"S" means the hand goes through outsweep (slightly), insweep,
push, and exit phases. It helps to catch hold of more water,
therefore, generates more accelerations.
No... and yes... The principle is you should use your thigh
for kicking, the knee may be bent by the water, but not by yourself.
Any guru want to elaborate on this ? I don't know more either.

you keep your arm straight when it enters the water completely.
Notice that when your hand should enter the water with palm
facing outside more or less.
My understanding is the reach forward phase is consistent with
the whole body roll. 尽量前伸 before entering the water disturbes
the form.
zouzou | z****u 发帖数: 185 | 3 if it's right hand. it's a "S" for left hand.
The key point is hold more water. So there are people (e.g. Geg)
talking about downsweep, upsweep, insweep, exit instead of out/in/push/exit.
Just try to find the best way to suit yourself.
zouzou | h*****o 发帖数: 598 | 4 The dropped elbow is caused by trying to push water directly backward.
The dropped elbow causes most of the force to be directed
upward, reducing propulsion while also disrupting horizontal alignment
and increasing resistance to forward motion. |
