标 题: 在线等：biostatistician和保险公司的modeling，谁更有前途呀？

在线等：刚拿到一个小保险公司的offer，不知道该不该接受？
本人情况：statistics小硕，工作７年，１年pharmaceutical market research，６年
class I medical device。现在的title是sr statistician。工作很轻松，工资待遇都
很满意，只是太没挑战。所以想换个工作。我所在地区Biotech都是小公司，很不稳定
。想转到别的公司，做个biostatistician，一是别人还很挑，嫌我class I medical
device的背景不够strong；二是很有可能pay cut（拿到一个CRO的offer，开的工资比
我现在低２，３万）
这个小保险公司offer我 sr Predictive Modeler，工资 | w********e

most important thing. You can spend more time in your habits, with your kids

Change means some kind of risk. You are not sure what new environment will
be, how your boss is, whether you like your new job, ... You mentioned you
want challenge, modeler is also 太没挑战 after you work one or two years according my my working experience.
Another bad side for change is that your previous 7 years experiences might not be very

发帖数: 411 | 4 谢谢你的回复！我的考虑是：总在一个公司做，接触的东西比较单一；人挪死，树挪活
，年轻时要build up自己的skill sets。今年初到现在，申请了这边几个小药厂的
Biostatistician工作，都没有成，主要是一Biotech比较注重Title，master很难有好
的Career；二是class I medical device，Pharma不是很看中。
大家可以从行业的可持续性上发表一下看法吗？

保险的话，如果对现在工作没啥不满意，劝你别折腾了。 保险作predictive modeling
的100个里有90多个二白五。 有好多小本科看了两本书，参加两个seminar就声称自己
会作modeling了，实际上连最基本的统计概念都不懂。 而且保险作modeling的模式已
经成型了，跟bio，marketing和其他data mining的作法完全不一样。 实际作活要对保
险/精算有一定了解。
上边那位说得对：有时间干点有用的吧。 什么“发展”，给人打工还能成为社会上层
？中国的科举那是独一无二的。 |
