May 12, 2005 - In land-scarce Japan, up to 80 percent of garbage is
incinerated, while a similar percentage ends up in landfills in the United
States.
Sweden:
Sweden now imports about 700,000 tons of garbage per year to help produce
electricity and heating for cities such as Helsingborg, a historic coastal
hub of about 100,000 people in southwestern Sweden.
Germany:
Germany leads the European nations in recycling, with around 70 percent of
the waste the country generates successfully recovered and reused each year.
To put that figure into perspective, consider this: In 2007, the U.S. was
able to recover only about 33 percent of the waste generated that year.
There are ways to handle the garbage. There are greener or more efficient
way to handle the garbage.
It has not been discussed simply because the city of San Jose earn more
money by dumping the garbage at Milpitas's expense.
It has not been discussed simply because of the selfishness of people like
someone here saying " my garbage and others' garbage need to be dumped just
not next to me" | q*****g 发帖数: 153 | 2 这些都是好的建议呀。可以向san jose提的吧?

listen.
Where is the dearest Mr. Chu?
These methods are not new. Any reason that the San Jose City refuse to adopt
or even to explore? It is all about their money.
