My experience with recruiters are very frustrating. They always introduce
you to the positions that are easy for me to get offer, but I am not
interested.
I told them clearly that I am only interested in quant positions. But they
continued setting me up for interviews for application engineers even after
I turned down the offers. they continue doing that, but not to introduce me
to the quant jobs.
I wonder what I should do. I argued with one recruiter. The |

If you have worked in IT field for many years, you may need to get another
degree to switch the field. |

quant developer.
But some examples of the recruiters introudced jobs: developing web
application, generate interest rate curves etc.

regarding OPs problem. Presumably you are profficient in C++, programming.
But do you have "quant" stuff on your resume? if you target a bank dealer
desk, do you have "black scholes, stochastic calculus" . If you target a
equity trading shot, do you have "statistics, time series" on your resume
and when asked questions, can you answer with some depth?
I once worked with a recuiter whose first order business was asking me what
is Ito's lemma and what is change of numeraire. Then he agre
