here is part of my letter to a Psychology Professor.
that letter is something I want to discuss the posibility of
entering master psy. study. I want to unify psychology and religion.
so I just say sth I believe in. but he didn't give me any answer email.
my question is: what will be your reaction --as a psychologist--
after reading the following writing.

My understanding of the different between science and religion
1. observe and study method

Science is science, religion is religion.

"truth" (or not tell, in the case of Buddhism). No way science and religion
can be unified.
However, studying people's religious experience can be an interesting path for
scientific psychological research. If you are so inclined, you are not alone.
In fact, one of the founding fathers of American psychology and famous
philosopher,
William James, has a book on "The Varieties of Religious Experience".

A useful reference for you is a special issue of Psychological Inquiry
published two years ago:
Psychological Inquiry: Volume 13, Issue 3 (2002).

thanks for you guys' re.
I have been thinging again and again.
is it safe to say that psychology is a course (if not say science) of
searching and studying the psychic phenomena?
I'd better to clear myself by saying this: when I talk about
religion, I'm indeed thinking about Fofa.(Buddha method)
I believe Fofa is beyond psychology.
but it will need too long explanation,
so I stop here.
and thank you for sharing your opinion.
