发帖数: 93 | 3 In some companies (don't know if it's in all companies) postdocs are not
even part of the headcount and the fellowship money comes from a different
source, so can ironically be considered even more "secure" than permanent
jobs within the postdoc term (usually 2-3 years). But of course, after all
company postdoc is just a "temp" position and at the end of your term you
need to go find a "real" job.

research institutes too (at least I have seen even more academic candidates
than industry candidates for the junior level scientists positions my
company is hiring for...), but if you have decided to have a career in
industry, then I think it's a good idea to go for the company postdoc,
especially if you want to transfer out of bench work (sooner) within the
pharmaceutical/biotech setting. Working in a company would provide you a lot
more opportunities for exposure in those non-research areas than academic.
