and anyone bought any stuff from this store?
am looking for a pair of all round mountaineering/ice climbing boot. i have
cold feet. this july when climbing mount rainier, whenever we stopped for a
short break, i felt my feet getting cold quickly in my old la sportiva
makalu.when walking, it was not that bad. (before sunset, it was about -10C
i guess). will spantik be enough or too warm? i am planning mt washington
this winter and mt whitney early next spring.
regarding fit, it is hard to explain. i think i have a wide toe and high
arches. and wearing makalu for long descending, often hurt my toe and broke
nails. (not sure if it is a fitting problem or i hit rocks too many times :P
).
Or any other choice you would recommend? better be la sportiva or scarpa,
EMS only carry these two brands' mountaineering boots. the only local store
in nyc i know. |
