准备labor day去爬whitney.
周五下午1点打电话,订周日的day hiking permit.如果有permit.
就周六临晨4点出发,12点到Eastern Sierra InterAgency Visitor Center取permite
然后到portal,安营扎寨.然后周日临晨2点出发,15个小时回到营地.
这个permit算周六的还是周日的permit,打电话问的时候.
如果没有,直接杀过去,拿那种walk in的permit几率有多大?

如果不预定,直接开过去,拿到permit的几率有多大?

No-Fee Permit Options
For a Mount Whitney Zone (main trail or North Fork/MR) day hike permit, show
up at the Visitors Center by 11 am the day BEFORE your entry date. Any
cancellations that have not been re-reserved will become available then. If
unsuccessful, report back to the Visitors Center by 2 pm that afternoon. No-
shows for the next day become available at 2 pm.

Also the Forest Service site only shows the number of non-reserved permits,
which is reasonably 0 for most of the days.
Also, you should really use the 2008 stat for reference, as the 2009 data are mostly unavailable. Labor day last year is on 9/1.
