最近在网上quote了一下，租车的话需要大概800刀。
所以想在这里问问，值不值得在boston买了新车过去再换牌照？大概要多少钱？先谢过

boston 这边买了新车要交的各种费用挺多得。估计还是去那边买车更方便点。
不知道这边有没有人有相关经历的！ |

方便不方便，大概多久时间。因为过去就要用车，担心时间太紧。在boston这边买新车
倒是相对方便点，过去有充足的时间换驾照和换牌照。除了换牌照，还需要重新注册吗

我是来了一个月左右换的驾照，需要考个笔试，不过是walk-in那种
不记得可不可以早弄了，应该是没问题的吧

看下来，在boston这边直接买了开过去更合我要求点呢。然后就可以慢慢在那里转。不
然没有车用就郁闷了

back...
I do not know anyone here in OH before I moved here, and it is not
convenient to buy as car in a new area, so I decided to buy a car in my old
state, then drove 9 hours in 2 days.
The dealer at the original state did not charge me any state tax because I
told them I am moving within 2 weeks. They mailed the title and bill of sale
to my old address (I already submit Change Address with USPS so the mail
got forwarded to my new address). On the bill of sale, it has my old address
, the Motor Vehicle center still let me register with them. You might want
to ask the dealer about any free services that they committed to offer (oil
change, etc.) could be continued here in OH or not.
I went to County Clerk of Courts Title Office paid the taxes, then to Deputy
Registrar License Agency paid fees and got the plate. http://www.bmv.ohio.gov/county_lst.stm here you can find the place you could go based on County.
The written test covered basic knowledge and I was just transferring the
driver's license. They tested on the speed in a residential area, meanings
of the signs, etc. What surprised me is they offer the test bank in Chinese!

我也是担心过去人生地不熟的，买车不方便。看你的帖子更坚定了我这边买车的决定。
不过我好奇地是，你拿车后，没有牌照啥的怎么能上路的？保险我问了geico是没有问
题的。问题就是怎么上路？

To answer your question and in case in the future anyone ask about the tag,
I will post answer here.
The dealer will give you a temporary tag which valid for 30 days. So you
might want to calculate the days which allow you have enough time
to get a new plate.
