SUMMARY OF POSITION
Briefly summarize the primary purpose of the position.
Performs analytical procedures and develops analytical methods under the
supervision of Manager, Analytical
MAJOR ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Perform analytical procedures such as ICP, AA, XRF, acid digestion,
titration, etc. to support QC/QA requests from Production department and
requests from R&D department, document and report results in a timely manner
following established SOPs and QC & QA criteria
2. Perform analytical method development and validation, document
procedures and write SOPs, review and revise analytical methods as needed,
ensure analytical methods are fully tested for ruggedness before
implementation in the QC/QA
3. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical equipments of low to
high complexity
4. Maintain an inventory of spare parts and supplies
5. Maintain an orderly and safe work place and works safely even alone
6. Assist in writing test methods and technical reports and train group
technicians for new methods
7. Assist in managing the lab to maintain uninterrupted analysis for
Production and ensure zero delays
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
Position reports to the Manager, Analytical
BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS
1. M.S. Degree in Analytical Chemistry or B.S. Degree in Analytical
Chemistry with >3 years of lab experiences
2. 2-5 years of experience with track record in analytical method
development and validation in a R&D lab or testing lab environment
3. Detail Oriented – produces consistent and accurate results
4. In-depth understanding of wet chemistry methods
5. Good mathematical skills and familiarity with calculations
6. Good verbal and written communication skills
7. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, proficiency in EXCEL
Macro skills is a plus
8. Experience in ICP or microwave digestion method development is desired
9. Available to work on a 12 hour work schedule
10. Available to work on night shift occasionally |
