incident in UCSD. "3.Don't believe anything the Chinaman says." is one of
the lab rules published on the lab's official website. The fact that this
happens in a public funded lab in a famous public university is appaulling.
As we all know, using the C word on Chinese is as offensive as using the N
word on African Americans or using the K word for Jewish people. As a
Chinese, I am not only feeling offended but also feeling dissappointed at
UCSD, or UC system for failing to prevent such incident happening.
Given that the UCLA student's racial discriminatory youtube clip incident
just happened not long ago, the fact is becoming clearer that racial biases
and discrimination are wide spread problems in UC schools, and the UC
obviously bears the responsibility for not doing enough to educate its
facaulty and staff on racial discrimination issues .
I demand the UC and UCSD to take action immdiately against this unlawful
racially discrimination act in your campus. |

ensuing link, which directs to Dr. XXX XXX’s research laboratory, contains
highly racially-insensitive and -inappropriate information. The so-called
3rd lab rule, described as “don’t believe anything the Chinaman says”,
has profoundly violated basic moral and scientific standards at various
levels, and the fact that it comes from a publically funded research group
affiliated with a nationally recognized higher education institution is
appalling and unacceptable.
It is well-known, to both American people and Chinese expatriates who are
studying and living in USA, that Chinaman is a historically derogatory and
discriminatory term specifically targeting at the Chinese descendants, on a
par with the usage of N- on African Americans or K- on Jews. These racist
concepts and mentalities have not only completely contradicted with the fact
that a multitude of various peoples have each made indispensable
contributions to the progression of the United States in its history, but
also grossly violated such fundamental moral guidelines as all humans are
created equal.
As a Chinese, I am extremely disappointed to notice that the UC system, with
its immense resources and advanced research capacity, have failed to
properly oversee and instruct its employees on this critical issue.
Therefore, we strongly urge the UC system and especially the Chemistry
Department to take immediate actions to address this serious incident, and
to implement necessary reforms to ensure no similar violations be tolerated
and allowed in future.

Dear Chancellor Marye Anne Fox,
I am writing to bring your attention to the racist behavior of Dr. Clifford
Kubiak in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. On his lab’s
official website, there was a lab rule says: “3.Don't believe anything the
Chinaman says.”. (Please see next page for a snapshot of his website.)
As we all know, using the C word on Chinese is as offensive as using the N
word on African Americans or using the K word for Jewish people. As a
faculty myself, I was completely shocked by the fact that this could happen
in the 21st century by an established professor from such a prestigious
university.
As an educator who should serve as a role model for young students, such
racism is absolutely intolerable. Dr. Clifford Kubiak should issue a public
apology and his tenure should be stripped.
I urgently hope to get your response regarding this matter.

你把事情闹大了，记者上赶着找你不是你找他。
很不理解为什么一个没有买买提ID的人能当上UCSD CCSA主席。一个联络北美华人最大
的论坛你都不参与，都不知道华人圈子发生了什么事，咋当主席。UCSD CSSA 也没有自己的论坛。到
