很多已发出的信件都表达了这期节目对华人感情的伤害，对中国人赤裸裸的歧视，以及
对racial hatred的推波助澜作用。但是这期节目的恶性影响不仅仅涉及华人。本身
killing，let someone live这样的表述，体现的就是对生命本身的漠视和对他人的冷
血,不管这个他人来自什么国家。现在美国校园枪击案那么多，Sandy Hook的死难者还
尸骨未寒，作父母作老师都成了高危职业，因为孩子们越来越多的在用暴力解决问题。
也许你公司里的老美，老印和其它国家的移民都不在乎华裔在美国的未来，但是他们不
会有人赞成校园枪击，赞成暴力宣传，不会有人完全不关心自家孩子是否成长在一个安
全的社会环境下。所以可以紧紧抓住JK节目Promote violence, show no respect for
life, suggest that there is nothing wrong with solving problems by killing
people, etc. 你的出发点就是关心青少年心理发展，反对暴力。
我已经用这套逻辑说服组里的一个老印和一个老美签白宫请愿了，因为他们都有上小学
的孩子。如果你认识的人里有中小学老师，学区心理医生，儿科医生，甚至经常去孩子
学校做义工的父母，你都可以用如上理由把他们争取过来。
我给ABC发的信写的不好，不过贴出来让大家参考，算是抛砖引玉吧。 |

I am writing this letter to voice my complaint against Jimmy Kimmel's "Kid's
round table" show that was aired on Oct 16. During the show a 6 year old
boy proposed the idea of solving American's debt crisis by "Killing everyone
in China". Instead of telling the boy that taking anyone's life is
fundamentally wrong, Mr. Kimmel laughed about it, made the comment that this
was an "interesting idea" and asked the kids in the show "Should we allow
the Chinese to live?". Mr. Kimmel tried to suggest that "killing everyone"
is not a very good solution to that particular problem, not because it
should not even be an option, but because "if you kill everyone in that
country, you can't borrow money from them anymore." Yet, this approach
remained an "interesting idea", a backup plan, a viable alternative, and a
potentially effective problem solving strategy.
As the mother of a school-aged child, I find these comments extremely
disturbing, discriminatory, and violent. The host's complete lack of respect
for life was setting a very toxic example for the next generation of
Americans. Killing people as a problem solving strategy has been,
unfortunately, all too familiar to us. With the growing number of campus
shooting tragedies, young children all over the country have been using this
strategy to get themselves out of unwanted situations. During the past
couple of days, two excellent teachers, one in Nevada, one in Boston, were
murdered by their teenage students. I would say this is not a coincident
that these murders occurred right after Jimmy Kimmel's show.
ABC is a well known broadcasting company and a very popular one among
American families. Airing this kind of discriminatory and violence-
promoting shows nationally was a huge mistake, and has already caused damage
to your company's public image.
A sincere apology must be issued. The way Mr. Kimmel reacted to the kid's
proposal showcased his lack of competence and integrity, thus he is not
suited for the job of a TV host. His speech is extremely distasteful and
this is the same rhetoric used in Nazi Germany against Jewish people. Please
immediately take actions by cutting the show and issuing a formal apology
to the general public.

伤害的华人（或物伤其类的其他少数民族）另眼看待，这些都会对孩子造成一生的不良
影响。
ABC没有剪掉，而是播出，是为了制造收视率，拿孩子的人生和前途开玩笑，是对参与
节目的儿童不负责任的行为，任何孩子都可能说出不恰当的话，但是电视台有选择的播

On Oct 16th, Jimmy Kimmel’s show on ABC aired a very disturbing skit titled
‘Kids Table’. That skit promoted racial hatred and genocide against the
Chinese. It is very disturbing to me and my family. In the skit, Kimmel
asked several kids how to solve the problems of the National Debt. One kid
said that we should kill all the Chinese so that we do not need to pay.
Kimmel said “this is an interesting idea”. I was shocked and appalled by
the answer of a child and the comment by Kimmel.
This was not live TV. How could Jimmy Kimmel, his producers, and ABC air
this episode without removing the disturbing comment and follow up
commentary? I find the blatant disregard for the racial and genocidal
comments appalling. Our children face an ongoing bulling epidemic. Jimmy
Kimmel just placed a bulls-eye on children of Asian descent. Furthermore,
the skit gives children the message that rather than repaying a debt, just
kill the person you owe money to and it will go away. This is much more than
a joke gone bad. This is a blatant disregard for humanity.
Jimmy Kimmel and ABC should issue an apology and institute protocols to
ensure something like this never gets aired again.

point out that this show delivered messages 1) you can solve your own
problem by killing other people; 2) you have the right to decide other
people's lives, and 3) talking about killing Chinese is politically correct.

这次确实很过分, 电视台故意侮辱中国人, 只是事先安排让小孩子说出来罢了(节目都
有彩排, 评审后才能播放). 如果这件事不了了之, 咱们如何对的起自己的人格? 咱们
的孩子将来何以得到别人的尊重? (BTW, 千万别以为华裔孩子多才多艺, 成绩好, 就赢
得尊重, 那顶多是羡慕, 但他们心底里还是会觉得华裔孩子好欺负, 懦弱!)
其他节目里, 为什么电视台不敢播放一样的话用在黑人身上呢? 道理很简单.
希望中国人团结起来, 参与请愿活动, 该出声就出声! 让老外看看中国人不是好欺负的
. 最有效的可能是法律手段，以hate crime等罪名正式起诉ABC电台. 在美国，想出名
挣钱的律师还是很好找的. 一旦这样的官司打起来, 影响力就出来了. 如果能胜诉, 这
将是最强有力的回击!!! |

other people不可以，反而在电视上跟millions of people说kill other people就成
了明星了？ kids learn from other kids。violence is an attitude. kids can
learn from school, from movies, and from comedy shows.
这个节目恶心的地方在于它让小朋友说这种话。小孩子的话都穿着innocent的外衣。所
以不管他是不是故意的，至少没有考虑中国人的感受，必须让他md吐血。 |
