很久以前，笔者的一个同事闲聊时问我在国内干病房还是干门诊， 我说，为什么
这么问？ 同事答道，比较好的医生才能干病房（这些没有良心的病人原来还有这样的
心思）。本文不想讨论这种观点的对错， 只是由此引出本文的统计对象： 病房医生-
Hospitalist -（这是笔者的翻译，欢迎指正）。 Hospitalist 是一个相对新的职业，
人数由1995年占内科医生总人数的5.9%猛增到2006年的19%[1]（够生猛的）。
在本数据库的统计中, CMG Hospitalist的共为139人, 若是被CMG医生总数相除是
2.54%，但若被内科医生的总人数相除则为13%, 后者的算法显然更合理些， 并和AMG的
统计数据具有可比性。 由于80%的Hospitalists是内科医生，因此我们没有将其他专业
的Hospitalist包括进来。尽管CMG Hospitalist的比例稍低于AMG的19%（2006年的数据
，我没有见到2011年的，欢迎update!)。除去统计的误差，CMG Hospitalist 和AMG’s
相去不远， 说明在这点上CMG还不算太另类。
笔者有几个干Hospitalist的朋友，听上去他们还是很喜欢这个职业的。主要优点是工
作比较单纯，下班以后都是自己的时间。工作对象只是病房病人，不像有些坐办公室的
医生，每天面对候诊室满满的病人， 下班后有数不清的电话，回答不完的问题。
Hospitalist的工作时间根据不同单位有很大的不同，最吸引人的是每天工作十二小时，每
周干七天，干一周，歇一周，爱玩的回趟中国都够了，爱挣钱的再找个第二职业。
Hospitalist的薪水平均为$180,000[2]， 就所花的时间而言，薪水应该好于普通内科
的医生（挣钱就是王道）。对Hospitalist有一种比较负面的说法是Hospitalist是终生
的住院医， 显然这是一种调侃，不能当真，但有一点是真的，Hospitalist和住院医
终日厮守，天天大眼瞪小眼。

private practice for the most new graduates. So it is hard to say it is a
pure professional job instead of a transitional position. Well, in real life
, I do see someone who had trouble to maintain her private practice and

against the way of taking care of his patients by others.
I agree he is a excellent doctor, but he always stay in hospital
over night and see outpatient in second day. He even falled asleep
once the patient in his office. Patient gentally called "....
. Doctor? .... Doctor? .. are you OK"? No joking, that is true
story, it's telling us how important the hospitalists are. |
