请问版上各位牛人，听说过这样的program么？申请竞争激烈么？出来之后做clinical

professional development, training programs。以前门坎不是很高，Ph.D毕业就可
申请。虽然以前不好找工作，但近几年出乎意料地好找。据说跟很多babyboomers退休
有关。只要不挑剔地方，我所见的人都很快找到工作。况且在大的医院，起薪在六位数
。但业内人士担心，这种好境不会持序很久。所谓一个萝卜一个坑，等babyboomer们的
位置都填满了， 就不会那么容易了。这种工作有点像国内的化验科主任， 跟那些
specialized in clinical chemistry 的clinical pathologists 的工作有很大的重叠
。据一位clinical pathology only 的 fellow抱怨， 正因为医院可以雇用clinical
chemists 来替代他们，他们的工资都被压低了。况且他们还要做点别的clinical
chemist不可以做的 fellowship，例如cytopathology， 来增加自己的竞争力。因为
当年老板是ＰＤ，我毕业的时候, 也动过这个心思，但当时想一心一意做个跟得夫人（
ＬＤ去哪里，俺就跟到哪里），所以放弃。但在我以后毕业的３个师妹，统统进了这个
program。其中一个，已经毕业，在一所大医院里工作。所以我个人认为，假如您对临
床化验感兴趣，这是个很好的选择。 |

extremely 重要, 英语挺重要，似乎近年竞争激励些，要ＵS PhD；早年好像不必非ＵS
的。两年的fellowship，training emphoresis lots on lab management, quality
control ect. Board 据说通过例是60％。一次不过还可再考一次，两次不过 打回原形
，重新做fellowship if you could make yourself in any program again.
About job market, it's small --- it used to be CP pathologists' job but more
and more such jobs pushed to Ph.Ds to lower the hospital expenses. But
considering the training programs are not many the whole nation, if you have
decent connections, you should be able to land on a position.

么样了... 请问这个职位是每个医院都需要吗？是不是一般一个医院只需要一个人？

PS: what i talked about, after get the board you are 'medical director', not
'clinical chemist'. I just notice that differences in terminology and i
hope you'd find the right info that you are looking for.

accepted in top training programs. Mayo Clinic and Washington University in
St Louis are the top two. Faculties in these programs are VIPs in AACC. Once
you are accepted into the programs, then you try to find supports from
these VIPs. I think connections may help you to land a job in a big medical
center, but graduating from a reputable program will secure you a job, even
if it is a small hospital in a not so popular location. As a fresh graduate,
your chance of getting a job as a lab director in a big medical center is
very slim, simply because you are lack of experience. However, once you have
your first job and gain experience, there are always opportunities to move
up. Alternatively, there are job opportunities in the IVD industry too. |

annual meeting，认识认识行内的大牛们和fellow们，还有现在就业的情况。AACC很大
很大的expo的。 |

科可以直接考medical technologist，不用修program,然后到医院找检验科的工作，不

发帖数: 439 | 29 MT是在医院里做bench work的那些technician需要的学位。他们工资比在research lab
做technician高一点。高中毕业念两年就拿到MT学位了
这个clinical fellowship是必须有MD或者PHD学位的，弄完了找的工作是叫medical director。 |
