467 | 2 Follow your heart. If you really want, you will make it happen. step 1 and step 2 都260+。
! | z**********4 发帖数: 467 | 7 If your husband is a radiology resident, it increases 10%-15% likelihood for
you to enter the same program. But Medical Physicist resident is much
weaker. If you could not get >245 on both steps or your background is not
related to radiology at all, it is very hard though. If I were you, I would
probably find out if I like radiology from the bottom of your heart (not
just from lifestyle or materialistic standpoints). That is ultra-important.
With determination, the world is making ways for you. Second, try to shoot >
250s in both steps. The national average for radiology residency is 238/240.
Thirdly, if possible, try to get an advanced degree in your home school. Of
course, M.S. is not counted. Preferably, get a Ph.D. in BME. If not, try a
MPH. Or sonography...Well anything related to radiology is preferred.
Furthermore, you could get more publications in radiology. Lastly, but most
important, go and set a meeting with PD or Chair in your home school first.
Print out your C.V. and be persuasive why you are interested in radiology.
If they are interested in you, they might allow you to do 1-2 months ob. At
the same time, they are observing you closely. They are very savvy in
detecting your interest in radiology or if you are able to get along. Try to
be nice to everyone including techs and med students. Be humble but be
professionally humble. If they have research project, try to do some
research. Usually radiologists do not do basic research which involves too
much physics. They usually do clinical research. In brief, radiology is
very very competitive, even for AMG. It is necessary for you to get fully
prepared both in hardwares(score, publications, advanced degrees) and
softwares(connections, personalities etc). Awy, good luck to you. |
