发帖数: 67 | 2 I don't think you are eligible to take COMLEX (DO counterpart of USMLE)
since your training is MD. The DOs have extra training on the manipulation
of the musculoskeletal system that MDs are not exposed to.
The only way to take DO boards is to go through 4 years of DO school.

Are you sure I have to go through 4-year DO program? I am not qualified for
COMLEX test at all?
DO I have similar chance as DDS program?My former neighbor was a dentist in
China, he passed the board fisrt,then got an admission of 2-year DDS program
. He is a dentist in PA now.

发帖数: 35 | 6 If you already have an MD degree, you pretty much can't apply any medical
school here in the US. D.O. school has a different educational approach
compare to M.D. school. During the 4 year training program, D.O. students
learn osteopathic manipulative medicine which is an addition to other
medical science knowledge. It focuses on musculoskeletal system and practice
hands on treatment to patients.
D.O. studnet are allowed to take USMLE and apply MD residency; however not
vice versa.
Since you already have an MD degree, the best way is to take USMLE. | b*******e
发帖数: 67 | 7 Dental schools have special 2-yr programs for international DDS graduates,
however, this does not exist with MD or DO schools. if your diploma is in
clinical medicine or medicine, then you can go ahead and take USMLE, but not
COMLEX as their training is different.
