day,but consult service is not bad, usually 1 to 2 rarely 3 new conslts a
day. 1 weekend call per month, round on onc floor Sat Sun, cover all heme/
onc consults, and couple evening/night calls from home, no need to go in
unless suspecting TTP, cord compression etc, but dealing with some
incompetent or paranoid ED physician or other MD is not fun.
overall, life is much better as fellow compared to being a resident, at
least for the first 6 months. my other rotations will be more intense. | l********y

cardio,GI,hem/onc,renal,ID一般来说都比较累。
endo,rheuma,A/I就轻松多了。
最不累的是A/I吧？4 fellows share call schedule=每四周有一周oncall,on call那
一周一般每周2-5个consult,基本晚上在家ER和floor是不会打传呼的。每周2.5 or 3天
门诊，令外2 or 2.5天就lecture,review course, immunology class,research. 第二
年fellow每周就1 or 1.5 day门诊，剩下的就是research:-)

发帖数: 6 | 5 i will be busier in Sept rotating on onc floor, lot's of call from chemo
suite regarding chemo and premed orders. it's better now so have some time
to prepare for the IM board. after that, need to read heme/onc text book,
article, etc. now i only read a few pages if i have questions regarding my
patient.
I bought new edition of Devita's Cancer, Williams hematology, a hematology
atlas, Bethasda handbook of heme, and Washington manual for onc, that's all
i need now. Of course, refer to NCCN, ASCO, ASH, and the new staging

I'm interested in hematopathology, and I'm wondering if any of you guys are
interested, we could start a skype group discussing heme-related subjects,
and it doesn't need to be formal at all. I know you guys are busier than me,

review smears, d/w attending, finish late, sent email to sign out for
weekend, it's a really hot day out there.
there will be a ASCO review in NYC t/m, good to keep up with new trial
results, easier than search online by cancer types. | S******A
