发帖数: 678 | 1 I arrived the hopital at 630am even though I was told to get there at 8am.
Dr. Mo, the Cardiologist whom I am shadowing, is a very busy doctor. I know
that he has a very tight schedule so I would like to go there early to
figure out where I am supposed to go and do for the day.
I met him in the cardiac cath lab at 730am. The first case that he did was a
tilt table test. During the procedule , he explained to me how many
possible diagnosis could be, and asked me a lot of qs in terms of treatment
plans, medications like Achase inhibitor, Alpha&Beta agonists and
antagonists, toxicity of the meds, carotid massage with nerve transmission
and brain neuclei, and so far and so forth.
The pt was negative for the tilt table test. So he needs to proceed to the
EP study. I follwed him and went into cardiac cath lab with lead drape on.
He measured the distance of SA node and His and several other parameters in
the cath lab, which I really do not know.
After that, I followed him to the reading room to read the TEE. He pointed
several thing on the screen to me. From the second pt, he kept on quizing me
on the anatomy structures on echo imagine and what were possible abnormal
problems on the valves, septum and walls. It was quite stressful yet
exciting.
After lunch, I followed him with two cardiac cath cases, two cadiology
consults, visited a pt on Tele floor, and got out of the hospital at 4pm. | d****y

You are so luck you happened to see this kind of syncope pt.,TTT, EP study
and TEE.
Follow this pt.and read some textbooks, you will get good feelings about the
differential diagnosis for syncope pt, which some times is of little bit
troubles
for clinicians.......
