anesthetized dog:
Mean glomerular capillary hydrostatic pressure (HPGC) 45 mmHg
Mean Bowman space hydrostatic pressure (HPBS) 12 mmHg
Mean glomerular capillary oncotic pressure (piGC) 23 mmHg
Mean Bowman space oncotic pressure (piBS) 0 mmHg
Coefficient of filtration (Kf) 3.0 (mL/min)/mmHg
Renal Blood Flow 200 mL/min
Hematocrit 40%
Filtration Fraction 25%
An IV infusion of AngII is administered for 60 minutes. Which of the
following is most likely in this animal after the infusion?
a. increased FF
b. increased HPBS
c. increased Kf
d. decreased mean piGC
e. decreased renal blood flow
The answer is A; however, I think it's E because AngII increases blood
pressure by potentiating aldosterone production and effects on renal
vasculature which would decrease renal blood flow; I can understand that FF
would increase if both factors GFR/RPF are decreased would lead to an
increase to FF but that is primarily caused by a decreased RBF?
2. a male newborn has abnormal TSH, anterior cervical mass is noted high in the neck; thyroid gland is not palpable .. TSH, T4 and T3 are all way below normal. What is the reason?
a. anti tsh receptor antibody
b. lingual thyroid
c. negative iodine balance
d. sodium /iodine symporter gene mutation
e. thyroid carcinoma
3. A 75-y-o man comes to the physician because of a 2-week history of moderate low back pain. Physical examination shows tenderness of the back and down each lower extremity on bending forward; there are no neuromuscular abnormalities. Rectal examination shows an enlarged prostate. Serum studies show a markedly increased prostate-specific antigen concentration. An x-ray of the spine shows vertebral collapse at L1 and patchy areas of increased density, consistent with osteoblastic metastases. Vertebroplasty is done to relieve the patient's pain, and a biopsy specimen of the damaged vertebra is obtained. Histologic examination of the biopsy specimen is most likely to show which of the following findings?
A) Aggregates of proliferating plasma cells and plasmablasts
B) Nests of epithelial cells joined by intercellular bridges and containing keratin pearls
C) Pleomorphic epithelial cells forming duct-like structures
D) Sheets of small oval- to spindle-shaped basophilic cells
E) Sheets of uniform cells divided into lobules by fine fibrous septa containing lymphocytes | g*******l 发帖数: 58 | 2 1. AT II constrict efferent arterioles.
2. none, will bet on Anti-TRH receptor antibody.
3. D | g*******l 发帖数: 58 | 3 For the 2nd question, can you paste all sentences here, is the question
asking why all TSH, T3 and T4 low, or question is asking why there is a high
neck mass?
【在 g*******l 的大作中提到】 : 1. AT II constrict efferent arterioles. : 2. none, will bet on Anti-TRH receptor antibody. : 3. D

and increase the GFR, FF=GFR/RPF, FF increases, so A is right, but how
about E? | g*******l 发帖数: 58 | | h***a 发帖数: 312 | 7 That is exactly the question. Now I get it. Anwser is lingual thyroid.Thanks
anyway |
