发帖数: 174 | 5 i checked out the big icu book from library during my icu rotation and didn'
t read a single page:). did get a small pocket book, "Tarascon IM & critical
care pocket book" from program.it has all the key points that we need as a
resident.
for the "red book", i tried to read the related topics with my daily work.
still have many pages that were never touched. i would be happy if i could
cover them all halfway toward the end of my second year~~

more challenging, especially as ward or ICU senior. |

rotation, still not ready for it. Call will be much tougher for residents.
We will be capped by 10, instead of 5, patients. I only hope I won't make
too stupid mistakes that kill my pts. |

发帖数: 174 | 10 we only have seniors to lead ward and ICU, for the rest of rotations we work
with attendings directly. so there is no "especially" here:)
I thought you all have the desire to take the charge. nothing will come for
free. i'd rather to face the stress of more resposibilities than just doing
the job for others.

发帖数: 174 | 11 as an intern, i found the big thick book did not work efficiently for me,
just because i have no time.on the ICU on-call day we can easily cover 18
patiens with one senior and one intern. then there is no cap for the transfer
and admissions. if i want to read something quickly, the small pocked book
i mentioned has everything covered. the only drawback is it doesn't explain
why.I would read the big thick book too during my senior year, that is when
we have much much more time to read, not during
