living room.
However, the old house has a back staircase, taking up 80 square feet space/
unit, 160 square feet in total. The staircase is right next to kitchens
that is quite big.
The idea is to convert the staircase space to new kitchens so that the
current kitchens can be converted to a living room/unit.
Anyone has an idea: how much would this project cost? Is it a good idea for
rental and resale?
Plumbing should not be an issue since the stairway space is right next to
kitchen. The sink can be just flipped to the other side of the wall.
The house is located in north new jersey.

the
walls, bearing the floor, needs to be strengthened.
