By being charged a fee for paying more principle, people are ripped off.
It is a different story if you are a bank broker who live on such fees.

extra every month but they don't apply the extra to your principal until all
these extra money accumulate to at least one month payment. So the extra
principal will be only applied at the 13th month. If you don't sign up the
program, you can still pay extra every month and these extra dollars will be
applied to your principal immediately.
