I just got a silly question when I recently started my job hunting: HOW can
you make your resume on the desk of the decision making person instead of
being overwhelmed in thousands of resumes?
Here are some of my thoughts:
BAD move: go to job fair or submit online resume without further follow up.
Considered moves:
Option 1: contact HR individually (how? email? phone?), contact persons that
you might work for (how to know).
Option 2: network people for internal recommendation, at least |

I saw many cover letter saying they are super interested in the position and
think they are perfect fit. but their resume show very little relevant
background to the position they apply for. those resumes will be thrown away
for sure even with internal referral.
The upstairs is right, never do option 1. |

不过大家在改resume的时候，怎么样才算是有针对性呢？
个人的经历总是有限的，我在网上看到的职位描述，很符合自己背景的总共也不超过20
个，说实话，很佩服那些海投100，200的人，我就是乱扔都扔出去。
PS：本人 Mechanical engineering，虽然不是EE，CS，STAT的热门，也不算是很冷的
行业了吧。

不是工作找你
所以不是看职位描述符不符合你的背景
而是要看你的背景符不符合职位描述

If job description says: change light bulb for the office.
You can say:
->Responsible for the light bulb change for 100 classroom in XX university.
->Conducted 1000 timely light bulb change in the last 3 years.
->Saved 10000 hours loss of class time due to potential lack of working
light bulb.
For each task in your resume, including the description of the work, your
responsibility and the outcome.
