its own. Car makers and banks are different. Banking is a good business if
people don't do dumb things, which means if government helps these banks
today, they will still be cash cow tomorrow. However, that's not the case
for US car makers. With current business model, US car makers cannot survive
by its own. Even if government pours cash into GM and Chrysler to make it
debt free today, they will be still struggling. The

related liabilities, which helps GM to do things out of court, but it would
be very speculative for current share holders (old share) to expect anything
significant.
