最近刚做了SR,回复说正在被Security Check。。。目前本行业业界形势不好,同行被
裁如家常便饭,本人也小担心。。。目前本人的H1B到明年1月中旬过期,正巧工卡到
明年1月底过期!!!现在公司HR问我绿卡申请的怎么样了、要不要renew H1B,我目
前还没有告诉公司已经拿到工卡。。。求版上高手支招,我是让公司HR给我renew H1B
、继续不告诉他们我已经有工卡,还是告诉他们我已经拿到工卡、不用renew H1B就用
工卡就行(但1月底也要过期)?假设个人表现都一样,在业界形势很不好的情况下,
H1B和工卡,公司更倾向于lay off哪个?谢谢指点! |

status.
Get the H1B renewal as it could protect your status as long as you stay
employed by the same company.
Since they are prompting you for the renewal, my guess is that the financial
burden of h1b renewal(about a few thousand) wont be triggering your lay-off
. There is not too much legal obligations for the company to lay off h1b
workers neither. However, I do recommend careful interpretation of the
subtle context/politics before your next move.
