不到什么有用的帮助。我的目的不是要赚大家的钱，主要是想力所能及地帮助大家，但
是我花时间的话，没有报酬也不合适吧。

That's for some unlucky cases, not for all.
It's okay that you charge your working hours for a fee, and some people indeed just need some touch-up on their reference letters, etc.
You might want to keep up with your words to establish your own reputation here. You don't have to attack another lawyer.

律师，可以节省很多费用，少走弯路。已经拿到绿卡的人也能把自己的经验教给后来人
，这样新申请的人能节省非常多的时间。
不知道大家是怎么样一个看法？

而且这个一般找local的人比较好， 适当的按小时给报酬也是很有必要的。

For the people who don't need to use a lawyer, they shouldn't use. Also for the people who used some irresponsible lawyers, I have sympathy for them. But for myself, I use a lawyer and I value his service; Our collaboration so far has been helpful for myself.
If the lawyers with many years' experiences do not help, why do you think that you would definitely help, only based on your own case and maybe a few suggestions to your friends? What makes you stand out so much?
As to sharing experiences, this board has been serving that purpose very well. I learned a lot from here, and I am double-checking what I see here and what I am told by my lawyer. I am also sharing what I have known so far.

Anybody can make his/her own choice.
When you compare the effects of using a lawyer or DIY, did you compare
whether they needed to use a lawyer or not?
As I said earlier, if one does not need to use a lawyer, he should not
bother. The one who uses a lawyer often is one that is not very
knowledgeable on this topic, and hence wants some guidance, or one that is
not very confident, and hence wants to know how to walk-around in the
presentation. That's the demand, and that's why there are lawyers that
provide this supply.
The one who wants to DIY can often find all the resources he needs, as the
desire to learn is the best propeller in anything one does.
If one wants to use a lawyer, I doubt that they'd go for your service since
the lawyers have their reputation and long time experiences there. If one
wants to DIY but wants a second opinion on their writing, they may want to
use your help. This should be what you take into consideration if you really
want to start your business this way. BTW, you are not the first one to
come up with this idea, and there are good hourly-helpers out there.
Basically, there is some demand in this niche of the market, and you can
think more on what you want to do or can do.

For the price you charge, what kind of service can you provide?
How about you give us the price that you will charge? Let everyone decide
whether that's reasonable or not (also based on IF your service is good,

than the money only.
This thing is still a business, in the sense that there's service provided
and money reward in return. You should also run it as a business to make
your service professional and consistent.
Also, why do you think that teaching is a business? or a dumber business in
your eyes? Every profession has values and people get to choose what they do.
