My lawyer is so slow, and writing is not that good.
It has been more than 2 months, still waiting for the lawyer.
I am free now.
But that's not true! You have to pay much attention to your own case,
because the role of lawyer is limited esp. we have such a informative bbs
just like this board.
Will post my experience afterwards. |

However, what is your bottom line. That is very important. All depends on
your defination of GOOD and EFFICIENCY and your tolerance.
Some lucky guys found very good and efficient lawyers ( if not Touers).
Unfortunately, I am not that lucky.
If you want to hire an attorney, better to spend time to find a VERY good
one.

actually work with him/her...The only reference may help is people's
comments here...Seems here Liu has the best reputation, Zhang may as well.

lucky, you can find a so-so lawyers.
I talked to the first lawyer, and he told he will sue me if I post facts
here
the second lawyer asked me to pay her 3/4 of $4000 fee before she starts,
and she even don't know the important difference between EB1A and EB1B
my friend recommended 3rd lawyer, although finally I found he is too lazy,
no response for a long time, although I have drafted all reference letters
and petition letter and have them revised by native speakers. He finally
worked on it until I told him if he cannot finish it with 3 days, I will
submit by myself. btw, he didn't know the new memo of 2010 at that time.
look, all lawyers I met suck.
if you dont care your money, you find a so-so lawyer to double check your
files. for bad lawyers, you will spend your money to delay your application
and buy negative effort.

I think that my lawyer is good. Well, I won't recommend him until my case is
done.
What I like him about includes the following:
1. He always responds within 24 hours or sooner, including letter revisions,
etc.
2. He helps me figure out in which areas I could dig out my value.
3. Like several other lawyers that I talked to, he also charged about half
of the fee at the beginning, and I'd pay him the second half only when the
case is approved.
4. He'll show me my PL and we'd revise it back and forth till we are both
satisfied. No surprise to me.
5. He's been encouraging in a detached manner, not praising without base,
nor criticizing without a solution. Emotional support in green card
application is very important.

based on 1A. This depends on different applicants, different cases,
different IOs who handle your case, different lawyers, and different luck. |

Actually my 4th lawyer is the company lawyer. I used him for 485.
I gave him all he needed, and he made > 20 mistakes in just 8 forms.
I clearly listed all his mistakes and told him change to what.
After 3 rounds, he still has 3 mistakes.

What I said is it may not be all faults of lawyers. Sometimes, your
attitude
, personality and communication skills are the key to others.
