Claimed contribution & authorship.
The IO thought I met authorship, judge, and media report, however, I was not
recognized internationally and did not stand apart from my peers.
When preparing for my RFE, I added such evidence for international
recognition and top percentage:
1) 1st most-cited paper out of 122 on my topic since its publication
2) ranks 6 out of 600ish international scientists regarding publication
number
3) The only one publication on my topic in the top journal in our field out
of 150 papers
4) Citation examples from international experts, in their paper, they
mention my work (co-authored) as "notable exceptions", "only 4 concrete
evidence".
5) Citation examples where in their paper they copied my figure or table
from my review (co-authored)
6) Testimony letter from chair of conference saying why they selected my
work to present
7) Two more letters, one international who cited my work in his review,
another who used my model for their several projects, in which two papers
were submitted.
8) publication & citation comparable to the top 10 universities faculities
9) Email from Jackson lab requesting for donation of my mice (not directly
to me but to my PI)
However, my case was ruthlessly denied.
Any suggestion is welcome. Appreciate it. |

It was filed by university. Our university (top 25) does not hire a lawyer,
but let the international center advisor handle these applications. I
myself organized the materials.
Originally I wrote a letter based on the famous templates from this board,
which contains summary tables and figures, ISI map, etc. But our univ.
advisor wants to see more concise one.
She did handle many cases before and had a lot of experience. |

It is tricky to meet the "international recognition" criteria. The key
point it to whom you compare with and in which field you compare with to
be internationally outstanding.The more specific area you define, the
better chance you would claim you are internationally outstanding (since
you are compared with relatively small number of people).
When you prepare recommendation letters, you also need to ask
recommenders to comment on your very specific area to be outstanding.

I thought it won't be so hard and there are so many negative opinions about
lawyers. I myself used a lawyer for my NIW case back in 2007. There was a
paragraph talking about totally different person and research in my petition
letter. So I didn't trust lawyers so much and decided to DIY.
I agree that more reviews will strengthen my case. Thanks. |

写作/组织材料（英文水平，模板，组织等）：3分；
真才实学：2分；
其他：2分。
我想来美国的中国学者，后4分是绝对保证的。运气的成分不可控制，剩下的就是好好
写作，组织材料。
检验你的写作过关与否，很容易。从PL中摘一段不痛不痒的贴上来，让大家打分。如果
10个人中有8个说你过关了，那就可以递。否则，最好重写。 |

not think I met this criteria.
Media report: one from professional journal, others from NewsRx. I don't
think it's very strong.
I used these to support my contribution. But the IO judged the awards and
media report based on his/her way even though I did not claim, and then
focused on my recommendation letters for contribution part.

我是自己写的eb1a一次性过了，主信大概5,6页，附上一下exhibits，总材料大概
1cm多点的厚度，3片一作文章，还不错但没有CNS。citation不是很多，所以根本
就没提。推荐信5个，基本上都是熟人，一句话说明一下是工作关系不是私人关系就好。
完全没有说自己或者自己的结果国际知名，最多用了"outstanding".
关于“internationally recognized”，不能自说自话，但是还是可以侧面提到，
比如自己的单位，还有老板是国际知名的这些。
建议重新提交，写得要简单明了，让人看到一个年轻有理想，有所成而又谦逊的自己。
