cheapthandirt also has the same deal. But many loyal posters here know "
cheap" was not gun user friendly during the 2013 crisis, so I agree they are
not the first choice, unless all 229 from Buds are sold out.
Here are the reasons I recommend:
1. I have used 229/226/225(P6) for two years. They are brand new, 8 yrs old
and 34 yrs old. All of them are full metal, none gave me any crap, just
shoot when it counts.
2. sig is the choice of Seals, FBI, US air marshals, many PD when they can
afford the budget, and Obama's bodygards. I can see the reasons why, I agree.
3. sig 229 has the same reputation as 226 used by Seals, but 229 is 1 inch
shorter than 226, makes it perfect for FBI city undercover operations,
perfect for home defense/CCW too.
4. sig 229/226/220(45acp) has the same usage philosophy.
DA for the first shot; SA for the follow up shots. No extra safety. It is a
battle proven design for the most common combat scenarios:
for the first shot within 7 yards, you just need make a quick draw and shoot
. You don't need worry about if you get the safety off. The 12 lbs DA
trigger is strong enough for safe carry, but easy to handle to ensure
hitting a man size target at the first shot in 7-10 yds, one or two handed
position.
for the follow up shots, a 4 lbs light SA trigger will ensure more accurate
shots. if the threat is at 20 yds distance, you have another option to draw
the gun, pull the hammer from DA to SA, then make a two handed accurate shot.
No extra manual safety is needed, to waste money, or time to train.
Internally, sig 229/226/220 has 4 level of safety, to make it the safest in
industry.
5. 9mm is effective in HD need. 15 rds high capacity has an advantage over
12rds 40sw 229 model, thus 9mm is always more popular than 40sw model, thus
this deal is even better.
6. This model number, WE29R9TSS, can not be found in sig's company web site.
I called sig support, they told me this one is the same as their latest
current model E29R9TSS, regular 9mm, night sights, but 'W' means it was
originally produced for law enforcement, even better !
7. regular 229 price is $800+. The $100+ discount comes from three reasons:
a. no magazine to ship with the gun, to make it a 'state compliant', cause
some stupid places, like MA/CT requires the mag to be sold separately, or if
together, the gun sellers need provide the serial number to the
registration, etc. So sorry CA guys, you still can't buy this gun, cause it
is not CA compliant, it is regular fully powerful 15 rds 229, to be enjoyed
by users in other free states.
b. it comes with no mags with reason above, but for non CA guys, just buy 2
or 3 sig 229 9mm 15rds/13rds mags from http://www.cdnnsports.com/magazines.html?brand=363, $35 each, and you are good to go.
c. it's slide is pure stainless steel. it doesn't have a blackened coating
like other models. lots of people like the black coating to make the gun
look more beautiful. I don't care, not in fashion business. ss steel is good
enough for what I need.
8. sig factory night sights are solid, last 10 yrs, and critical at night
time. Included in this model.
this is a great deal, cause the market has been weakened a little bit after
the 2013 crisis in the last 3-6 mths. but good deals are not for ever. I
called buds, they said they have some in stock. I think this deal can't last
for 4 days, maybe 2 days.
any experienced IT guys heard this, nobody is fired for buying ibm products.
same is with sig. Once a sig, always a sig. it works for me.
Only my own thoughts. Do you own research, follow the local law.

发帖数: 94 | 18 Today I came to an ffl dealer to accept the two-tone sig 229 (police version
) I just ordered from the link above and I was pleasantly surprised.
The police version is really manufactured for LE usage. The stainless steel
slide is not naturally shiny like a civilian version. It is coated like sand
blasted, to reduce any possible glare in police operations. The look is
like in this web page,

the 4th picture of a sig 229 with a silver gray slide.
The fit of the slide and rails is also a little tighter than a civilian
version. It takes a 15 rd mag I brought easily.
Other than those, the police version is the same as a regular 229 E29R-9-TSS.
Will pick it up after the clearance is passed in a few days, then do the
range fire test. After a few hundreds rounds without any issues, the LE
version will be the duty weapon, and the civilian version will be the backup.
Bear, you have two choices for mags,
1. get a 17rd mags and a 13rds from cdnn

I never had any issues with cdnn sig mags. one time a mag didn't do drop-
free, I called them, shipped it back for $3 shipping via usps,they swapped
one and shipped it back. mec-gar is the OEM provider to sig, so same quality
as sig factory.
13rds will fit the grip naturally. 17 rds will have a little extension. If
you prefer no extension, then go to sig shop below.
2. get 2 15rds from sig directly

they will both fit the grip naturally without any extension.
both prices look reasonable. People normally have at least 2 mags, one in
the weapon, one backup, when doing CCW.
