Based on my knowledge, Kings have vertical stripes and Spanish have yellow
spots. Spanish really can grow big.

Spots on the body cannot be used to differentiate king and spanish.
Lateral line drop, dorsal fin are the two criteria to distinguish king and
spanish.
Trolling with lures usually caught king mackerel. |

按理说king mackerel只有young fish才有斑点，难道2-3磅还是小的？spanish mackerel长这么大到不少见，而且一般也是用lure钓。
itiger在墨西哥湾里钓到过king吗？ |

surprising if you catch some on beach. People catch kings on fishing piers
all over FL. I have never caught one in bigbend area though.
mackerel长这么大到不少见，而且一般也是用lure钓。

It is fun to reel in because it can take out 200 yards of your line in a
