extremely active， 但关键是在service的部分提了两次recommendation for
additional services to the department, the school and the university。第一次
说： "The committee thinks Dr. XXX's service is active, but recommend
additional services to the department and the school going forward". 第二次
是说"The committee thinks Dr. xxx's service is satisfactory. Moving forward,
the committee does suggest Dr. xxx take on more services. "我们是
比较小的私立学校，挺看重service的，不知道会不会有问题？ 很担心。
我下周会和department committee meet，对这个report有问题的话可以提出来。我肯
定会提，但感觉committee改report的可能性不大。 在跟department committee meet
之前有没有必要跟Dean谈这件事 提出我的concern? |

这里面一定是有人看你不爽， 但你材料很强，挑不出毛病， 只能从service上挑事。
打听一下，看能不能缓和一下。 |

。我也把我的service都写在我的tenure review里了。写service的这个人就是故意给
我找麻烦 我觉得我说什么都没什么用

chair是我们系里最senior的，在university tenure committee上也serve过, 有没有
必要单独问问他的意见？
我知道是谁在搞鬼，跟他谈没用的。以前也发生过给我小鞋穿的情况，跟他谈了没用。 |

我觉得不用担心
我们这里的风格就是总要给你找点毛病显得PT committee高瞻远瞩。不可能全说好的。
比如我今年拿一米的钱，committee说你丫确实牛逼，但是建议我要从不同的agencies
拿钱，不能总撸老相好。
我觉得，只要最后的意见是recommend就行。他给出的只是建议，而不是指出缺陷。 |

万一的准备。
job market并不太看重service, 假如你拿到心仪的Offer, 到时候你心中有底气，然后
跟系主任和院长谈谈，比如我拿到了什么什么offer,现在我在评tenure，我是希望能留
下来的，我在这边teaching 和 research 大家都有目共睹，但还是很担心tenure， 然
后和他们通个气。
假如系主任和院长并不希望你留下来。那么，你做的再好也没有用。假如他们希望你留
下来，只有极个别人跟你有过节，问题不大，投票权掌握在多数人手中。而且你还可以
appeal。 虽然appeal一般没什么太大的意思。
一句话，永远需要把bargain power掌握到自己手上。
Service还是得做，选一些不那么花时间的committee. 然后七的八的都写上去。 |

发帖数: 2760 | 19 楼主teaching 和研究可能比其他人好太多了，搞得别人心里不爽，没话说，只能扯他
service不够了。
别人心里想， 你小子多做点service, 你还有那么多时间搞研究吗？
另外，楼主得多参加一些party啥的，大伙低头不见抬头见，比如圣诞节到了，给系里
每个人写个圣诞卡片啥的，跟关系好的送点小礼物啥的。
等你拿到了正教授，搞研究搞到死都不会有人管你，也不会有人嫉妒你，也不会有人要
你做 service。 为啥，因为他们管不着。
到了那一步，你也许应该考虑做别的事情了，光做teaching 和 research 太无聊了。
比如做系主任，什么什么项目的director，让生活更丰富一些。

本来tenure之后就要负担更多的services。
最主要的还是投票结果，上面的committee没人会仔细读report的每一句话。
