终于进入了negotiation阶段。让我给个计划，包括salary和start-up。前两年的暑假
，每年有两个月（不能是三个月）可以从start-up里面出。这两个月的工资可以比学期
里面9个月的高吗？还是持平？
我的学期里面9个月的工资还没定出来，但估计是不高不低。
新AP,start-up要高些？还是正合适就好？但是就怕，现在看来合适，以后其他地方要
用钱的时候会紧张？

暑假月工资和平时是一样的，按年工资的1/9每月给。
start-up要多少和自己的实力有关系。如果实力强，有别的offer，多要些也可以。不
过要太多会伤rp。钱要用的宽松，得靠自己拿funding，start-up是不够的。
另外，对计算机多数方向来说，start-up的大头是TA/RA support。

发帖数: 122 | 3 Ask for 2 month salary for 3 years (6 months total). Many schools offer 4 to
everyone as standard for experimentalist. If you don't ask for more, you
won't get more (even 5 is better).
Same for PhD student support, ask 6 student*year (2 students x 3 years).
Standard is around 4 student*year.
Ask for 1 year teaching release.
Ask for all funds to be given a single pot of discretionary funds (i.e. can
be spent on anything, not divided into categories like student support and
summer salary).
Make a detailed list of equipment with detailed justifications. Ask for a
bit more than you can think of (round up numbers), because you always forget
things. Then it's hard for the Dean to push back.
Take your time and do your research, don't rush and forget about big items.
Ask other recent hires you know to share their list.
Try to ask for major items at once. Later negotiate for things that they did
not give but is important for you.

the same department. If you can get the average for all APs it is already
great for new hire, as salary increases slightly with how many years one is
there. |
