Deptment Chair saying that "To move ahead with the process, please provide a
PDF of the review of your pending R01". Since my RO1 is pending and it
contains my applicaiton ID as well as the program officer contact
information, is it safe to give it the Search committee? Thanks for your
advice. |

I have a score at the cut-off edge according to the program officer.
I understand that there is no problem to share the summary statement when
the RO1 is funded, or not funded but the applicant is not moving.
My RO1 is currently pending and the council meeting will be in May. If
another university, not my current institution, contacts my program officer,
it will mean that I am leaving from my current institution. The score of a
RO1 is based on the environment of applicant’s current institution. Will
leaving this environment be considered a negative factor by the council
meeting and the program officer, and thus influence their decision on
whether they would like to fund my RO1 or not?
I can send them the summary statement and ask them not to contact my program
officer. But is is risky

M*****n 发帖数: 16729 | 5 send the first page of statement summary, which contains the score. I guess they just want to see your score. |
f*******7 发帖数: 1019 | 6 I think it's ok to send them your summary statement. They probably just want
to get an idea of how likely this R01 will be funded. I don't think they'll
contact your PO. You can certainly ask the chair to treat your summary
statement as confidential information.

That's probably what I am going to do. If they just want to see the score, I
feel upset as I put this score in my application package. Does it mean that
they do not trust my application? In addition, should I block out the
contact information of the program officer? But no matter I block out or not
, I feel uncormforable. Any suggestion?

You are right. It seems that their purpose is to see how likely this RO1 is
funded. It is hard to make a judgement by just looking the score/percentile,
especially when the score is close to the cut-off edge. Thanks.

issue. instead you should send the whole document and be proud of this
accomplishment.
