和他们系主任谈过一次。当时他问我要多少salary,我就开了一个价,是我们行业2009
年salary survey的75th percentile(我有个同学在那个系,75th percentile是他的
建议)。当时他并没有反对或赞同。但现在offer letter 里比那个salary低了$4000.
我后来看到本行业2010年salary survey的年薪比2009年反而低了,估计他们可能是取
了两年的平均值。
现在问题是是否和他们继续negotiate salary.我还是很想试一试,就是不知如何negotiate.这个学校是私立的,所以网上没法查到他们系别人的工资。谢谢各位仁兄仁姐的建议! |

I am thinking of two points:
1. The living cost is higher in that city (about 10% higher). So the salary
they provided ($125K) is actually only about 10% higher than my current
place.
2. Some of my senior fellow students (at another school) with a similar
track record earned $130K two years ago.
